I might be able to spare an Engineer or two to work in France now that the Albania-Greece RR is complete.'Arguing with anonymous strangers on the internet is a sucker's game because they almost always turn out to be - or to be indistinguishable from - self-righteous sixteen year olds possessing infinite amounts of free time.'

Yes, build bypasses in Northern France. I still have yet to get to Lorient with my disgruntled truck drivers. Also, try back in the balkans next year, bypasses will be made hopefully
Also if there are any other places besides Austria and the Balkans that people want bypasses in, notify the Russian authorities and it will be done ASAP
The Russian Transportation Minister was a little angry that day; no offense was meant to the French governmentGeorgi Nikolai Anzyakov, Commander Grand Northern Front, Red Front Democracy Game

Days off
As mentioned on other threads, I'll be away from the 28th of August to the 8th of September, and not able to access a computer! And YES, before you ask, I do deserve my days off !!
So I'll need a sub for the various pbem I'm in for this (short)time! As I would prefer someone I know from other games, here you'll find the list of the pbems I'm in; so if you would be willing to sub for me in one of the game where you aren't already involved, please let me know!!
Anyway, at the rate some of the game are moving, you might even not need to play a turn...
The games are:
Hellas (Corinth)
History (Italy)
Another Age of War (Turkey)
Mongols (Khwarizm)
American Empire (Indians)

Russian Trade Minister Shoots Himself!
Just today, Yuri Kutzenov was found dead after a self-inflicted gunshot wound. On his suicide note it was written: "I help build up a massive RR structure with bypasses and trade friendly areas out of back-water roads and what do I get from the other European powers? ****!!!!!"
Russia prime minister Anzakov, immediately saddened at the loss of a great Russian industrializer, called among all European nations for European Rail Commission (ERC). This commission would check for RR bypasses and fine any nation 5 gold per turn for a city without a proper way to get around it. Russia would like all the nations to sign on to the ERC so this insanity in trade will stop.
Also Russia would like to note that the French inferiority complex has arisen again, as our trucks are wandering on the back roads between military barricades and dirt cart paths. Russia grows weary of this would like it if Franch authorities would kindly make their trip to Lorient expedient. Thank you.Attached FilesGeorgi Nikolai Anzyakov, Commander Grand Northern Front, Red Front Democracy Game

La Reppublica
Italy Welcomes ERC
The Italian government has reacted warmly to the Russian proposal to form a European Rail Commision. Speaking to reporters, President Case said that "Italy has nothing to lose and everything to gain from accepting this proposal. By next month all but one Italian city will have a RR by-pass around it, thereby allowing foreign trade to flow freely through Italy."
However, the President did express some concerns about the Russian proposal "Firstly, who will the fines be payable to? Secondly, the Russians must recognise that it is not practical to extend RRs to every city [the tiny and remote Italian city of Trento for instance) and nations must be allowed to opt these cities out of the RR network. Thirdly, who will oversee compliance with this treaty?"
As the first step, the President has proposed that priority be given to the constuction of improved RR links though France and Germany.Attached Files'Arguing with anonymous strangers on the internet is a sucker's game because they almost always turn out to be - or to be indistinguishable from - self-righteous sixteen year olds possessing infinite amounts of free time.'

Russia agrees with Italy as to building up the RRs in France and Germany. Also Russia would like to help but is currently occupied with its own RRs.Georgi Nikolai Anzyakov, Commander Grand Northern Front, Red Front Democracy Game

Turkey refuses to sign the ERC as the terrain in Anatolia is much too difficult to think about bypasses for the cities in this area in the near future!
Even if the turkish progress on the way to industrialization and development has been huge in the last years, there still is plenty to do and higher priorities than allowing easy access to this remote places!
That said, Prime Minister Cyrion has the pleasure to inform all his european colleagues that the bypasses allowing access to Istanbul from the Italian railroad have been in place for a long time now...Ankh-Morpork, we have an orangutan...
