"All rise for Prime Minister Enzo Pagniacci!" said the Majority Leader Winston Churchill, the assembly dutifully rose to their feet as Prime Minister Enzo Pagniacci walked proudly and took his seat at the podium.

"I now call into order this first session of the European Parliament, on this day March 15th 1520. I will now call upon the assembled Chiefs of Staff to update us on our situation following the cease fire with the FDP and prior to our official signing of peace. General Adriana Alessi shall fill us in, General." said Enzo as Adriana stood up to the podium.

"Great Parliament of Europe, now that the Israeli armies have left their posts it has given us the opportunity to finally see what we have lost during the war. The cities of Khazar and Novokazalinsk have been taken by Israel, the cities of Bosporus, Bucharest and Athens have been taken by Israel. In the Americas the cities of Nuovo Monaco, San Luigi and Richmond have been taken as well by the Mali-Israeli coalition. The Mongolians have taken Orsoni and Savona, but have yet to impede accross the Ural mountains. That is the update on lost territory, which is considerably less than what we had initially believed. This leads the Joint Chiefs to ask this Parliament to renegotiate our current peace with the FDP. We feel that we are not in a position to be forced into peace." just then she was interrupted by Lars Engleberger of Austria.

"General Alessi, you have come to this assembly to ask that we go back on our initial deal to the Israelites and say that we feel we shouldn't accept these terms simply because we've found that our position isn't that bad. Our national capital, Venice, has been retaken yes, but how long will it be until we again are ran out of our ancestral homeland" said the Dove MP from Vienna "Surely we can't allow this war to continue, Israel or the FDP or whatever they wish to call themselves now will surely take offense."

"With all due respect Mr. Engleberger, it is not our place to appease this nation. If they wish for peace they can have it, the Joint Chiefs have no issue there, however we are not in a position of total loss, the Eurokorps forces being assembled under Prime Minister Paganiacci's plan should be quite apt to retake this land. I believe that it is your concern for your home Vienna that leads you to want a quick peace." she retorted.

"No ma'am, it is my concern for my home EUROPE that leads me towards an expediate peace. This is nonsense, we are making further powerplays when we are clearly a defeated nation." he said as he sat down.

"That is what this assembly is here to determine. I am merely explaining that our initial idea is incorrect, in the face of these new facts we should renegotiate our position, the loss of our entire colonial empire is ridiculous, utterly ridiculous based on these latest facts. That is what the Joint Chiefs believe, we are quite assured that a victory over the FDP would not be ruled out, thus we should agree to nothing resembling a surrender." at this point the MP from Spain, Julio Cerebro stood up.

"I agree with the General, how can we simply bow down to these threats from Israel? They are nothing! They took advantage of us when we were down, these Jews are not to be trusted!" he barked.

"I take offense Mr. Cerebro" said the MP from Poland, Loni Wisniewski "My state has many Jewish Poles, a vast number of which have joined the ranks of these armed forces. Religion is clearly not an issue, if it where we would not be clashing in this manner. However I must agree, I believe that a new negotiation should occur, one that this Parliament agrees with. Not one that Klamens Metternich and Enzo Pagniacci wish for."

"Order please!" said Prime Minister Pagniacci as he hit his gavel on the podium "Gentlemen, we must not bicker over petty details. That very issue is what we have come to discuss, the Parliament must decide the proper course of events here. The FDP in so many words have agreed to a trade of cities, one for one. I suggest we attempt to keep some of our colonies since this is how it will occur. We could realistically keep the province of Mantucci and still regain our lost European territories. General, have you any more to say?"

"Yes sir, I have much more. Our Military has taken an impressive blow from the war. As far as artillery based garrisons we have next to nothing, infantry is low as well and our naval capability is nearly non existant. We are hurting, our former Commander in Chief Henrick Heimmler did nothing for this nation and although he was able to retake Venice, that's about as much as he could do. Our defenses there are shoddy as well to say the least. Other than the latest edict by Prime Minister Pagniacci, the Eurokorps plan, we've got no real capability." she said somberly there was no reaction from the assembly.

"Thank you General. The next order of business is our current situation with the FDP. We have a treaty to put the finishing touches on, here is what is currently suggested by my staff; Bucharest, Athens and Bosporus are top priorities. That's already three cities we owe the FDP. For this we will give them all of Mexico, our remaining two colonies we will keep. That will be the peace treaty. We shall now vote on this, to be known as EUPR - 2. Voting will commense in ten minutes..."

"The trip was great Jula, and the new building is coming along very quickly. Should be up and running in no time." answered the General.

"Good, that is excellent. So Shakeem, now that we have signed a cease fire with Israel and tension will be relaxing, we can turn our attention to the Mongols. Their aggression against our allies in Europe has been ignored much too long as it is. We must demand that their entry into Europe be halted immediately. Should they refuse and continue to attack Europe, we will be forced to engage. Leave me Shakeem, I must pen a letter to President Dangime...." Kamma ordered the General.

Shakeem nodded and exited the room......

President Dangime,

Your time of freely entering our European allies territory is over. Your country will discontinue it's aggressive manuevers towards EU cities, or the Zulu Nation will be forced to enter into a peace keeping mission.

This request is effective immediately. There will be no more warnings after this one. If your offensive persists, we will be forced to engage your country directly. The choice is yours President and yours alone.

Continuing your un-provoked attacks are a danger both to our alliance as well as the stability of the world. We will no longer sit by and allow this vulgar display of aggression to continue.

You needn't respond directly. Should the offensive cease, we will know that you have heard us. Should it continue, we will know that you have ignored our warning, and you will face the consequences. It's very simple.

The Palace in Venice (or what remains of it)...

The sentry stood still as Enzo Pagniacci approached the tomb of Klamens Metternich, who was now laid to rest in the throne room of the old Palace in Venice. The people of Europe loved him more than any other leader in its history, Bonaparte, Mussolini, even in the days of the Kings. There were no rallies, no posters, no salutes, no special titles dedicated to him during his life. No powers beyond the normal written codes that he enjoyed, he was merely a man who served Europe well, even when he felt he had done nothing, when he felt it permitted the taking of his own life the man had done all he could for his beloved homeland. This the people of Europe, finally out of the war that plagued them for years, were grateful for.

Enzo Pagniacci had known Klamens Metternich since they were young adolescents in the War Academy at Broken Hill, an Australian institution. They had been bunked together for all three and a half years of their education, learning the order of the Military and tact. Information that seemed to be of little use during this war, a war involving machine weapons rather than cavalry and infantry divisions, the popular courses at Broken Hill. When it was discovered that Metternich's parents were killed in a fire at their home in Vienna both returned to Europe to stay with Furio Pagniacci, Enzo's father, one of the Adriatic Joint Chiefs under the rule of Benito Mussolini and his Falange party.

It had been divulged after Dictator Idoni ousted Mussolini and had Pagniacci executed that Falange forces were responsable for the murder of Metternich's parents. He then joined the armed forces under Idoni and it cost him use of his right leg in the war, Pagniacci on the other hand quickly rose the ranks and was named General like his father. Now in the later days of Metternich's life both men served as the leaders of the falling Adriatic League, attempting to hold their proud historic nation together while embattled on two fronts against their long-time enemies the Israelites and Mongols. After it became clear to Metternich that his plans weren't taking effect he went, as some would say, a step too far and took his own life in his offices in Paris. Soon thereafter Enzo Pagniacci was named Prime Minister in Metternich's final edict from beyond the grave.

But here they were now again, the two old friends finally united in the throne room of Carlo D'Medici, Lorenzo D'Medici and Ferdinand of Habsubrg. Great leaders, great generals like Leopold of Habsburg, Cosimo D'Medici, Giuseppi Mazzini and of course Napoleon Bonaparte have stood in this very room, and sat in this very spot upon the throne of Europe. They were great men who ruled a vast empire, who's reputation and mettle went untested and unquestioned for centuries. Now there sat the coffin of Klamens Metternich, two flags; one for the Adriatic League and one for the European Union draped over the shiney oak peice. Enzo Pagniacci lowered himself to one knee and bowed his head...

My brother, you have made a mistake, you have taken your own life and comitted against your friends, your God and yourself the greatest of all sins. I can only hope and pray that God will be able to show mercy upon your soul, for I have already forgiven you. Your people love you, despite your moment of weakness." he said as a tear fell from his eye "It is very difficult my friend, to rule in your stead. Nay not to rule, why do I speak like this. To serve, that is what you always thought of this as, this leadership. Leaders do not rule Enzo, its what you always told me, they serve. Well Klamens, I will try my hardest to abide by that maxim. We have a good future my friend, I can see it now. We have bright young officers and bright young statesmen ready to take this beyond the Adriatic League. We have truly begun a new future for ourselves, the European Union. We have a long way to go Klamens, I know you will always be there for us. I only wish to hope that a spot in heaven was reserved for Klamens Metternich, otherwise he might be confused with the Lord himself. Viva la Europa. Amen." he signed the trinity and rose, wiping the tears from his eyes.

"Sir this is the latest report from European Parliamnent" He handed the Reich Marshall the papers and retreated out the door.

The Reich Marshall slowly read the report sof the vote in the Europena PArlaiment and his normal friendly countenance slowly changed to fury.

"What !!" He thre the papers into the fire "Who do those Europeans think they are? THey come to me asking foe peace and we get agreeemnt to only see it broken in the next three months by a meddling parliament. They shall pay for this. I wont have peace agreements broken after strong negotiaiting on both sides. We compromised our original requests to meet there expectations and now they are offering less. Well war it will be. "

He stormed into the ante room

"General " he shouted at his aide and he immedialty stood to attention " send word to Field Marshal Von Bismark to return all troops to Europe, the EU has revoked the peace agreement. Prepare for the Zulu to do the same, I feel that the EU leadership has been foced into this peace agreement breakup and its probalby by the Zulus, so expect them to attack again."

"And send word to the Mongols that due to this breakdown in Peace betwen us and the EU/Zulu alliance, we will aid them in crushing the swine who dare go back on their words."

Troops returning to Slovakia and Europe

Well...

Here is it Wensday night. I'm no closer to having a room with a working ethernet port. I just inquired today. Turns out I'm 19th on the waiting list, fortuently that is moving with some speed. Anyway guys I have no method of actively seeking a sub. My ICQ list was burnt away even If I could access the net from my own computer. I will have to leave this to you guys and just hope. I will leave some suggestions to the new player below. I may return at some latter date, but weither you guys want me back is up to you I understand.

New Mongolian Player, Your Situation: You have a large land mass and a strong potiental. You have 2 strong allies in Israel and Australia. However the game is getting to the point where one must look at who is ahead and make hard choices about their civ and relations to others.

The war with the AL is more of an option than oppertunity at the point the Israelies are no longer at war with them. But things seem shaky make sure what is going on before you play, peace or not. Don't end up fighting alone. Not to say that the AL could not be destroyed alone, its just questionable now if a long(er) war with them is what the Mongolian player needs at this point. Mongolia can live with what they have if the AL is ready to give up and look else where instead of grabbing onto a vendetta that will end in an Australian victory.

Watch Israel if they make peace with their neighbors. Unfortuent side effect is the alliance with Mongolia becomes less important.

Be weary of Australia. Unchecked they shall prevail. Ask the Australians what they have done for you lately, but don't be completely stupid. You are Australias force on the Contienent, use this to your advantage, but don't let the Aussies walk away free.

Closely watch your land boarders with Israel and China, this is where you are most vunrable to sneak attack in the age of howies. The rail connection to Russia is largely destroyed, if war is not persued keep it that way and blow up the road, put up fortresses in that region and on other boarders.

If the war ends, try some roads, irrigation, WLTPD and auqaducts / sewer systems. Don't forget the auto enginner trick out the the middile of the contient. Couldn't hurt if theres no where to fight.

Persue nukes, submarines, and submarines carring nukes. Build up the Navy in general. You will find I have already planned some cities for the Naval building process, but you will have to expand on this. There is no SDI, humans can't find subs without special units, and a large fleet of subs a few with nukes, a few without....with a surface fleet is near unstopable force. This will give you political leveage in the end game as well as a MAD deterant.

That is about it. In closing, fight the AL only as long as Israel does. If they will quit here, fine. Watch your boarders. Build up the country a bit, build a navy. Play smart...you are a #3 player and the #2 and #1 players don't connect by land to you. A strange, but good situation, but you still must watch yourself, players who feel they can't win may attack you just to gain a few ranks before they ultimately lose. In my opinion some important alliances must be made or strenthend to insure Monglia is amongst those who last the whole end game.

And of course if the world screws you over nuke the bastards, all of them.

"Dearest" Rasputin. I had no idea that Little Man Syndrom included symptoms resulting in loss of eyesight. Because if it does I must remind you to please either (A) Actually read my post, or (B) Not fly off the handle when you incorrectly do so.

If you read my post Parliament agreed to the peace treaty, how you misconstrued this for a continuation of aggression is beyond me and hopefully anyone who has mastered the English language.

Simply because not all of our Members of Parliament agreed to make peace does not mean that I as leader of the nation, or the nation wishes to continue the war. I don't know how things are in the "FDP" but in Europe there are individuals with individual ideas and thoughts, we don't shoot them when they don't agree with everyone else.

So Rasputin, to reiderate, you are going to retain the peace deal, I can't see how you possibly got any other idea out of my post, I thought it was well written enough.

The state dinner was quite possibly the most elaborate in Europe's history, perhaps even the world's. Amsterdam was the leading city vying for the home of the EU's capital, and a large feast was thrown by its Governor Luis Van Der Jagt in order to gain the support of the assembled Members of Parliament...

"Did you hear the news?" asked Carlomagne Toulouse, an MP from France "According to early reports FDP soldiers have turned around and are heading back into Venice."

"Are you certain sir? That makes no sense." asked Winston Churchill the Majority (Dove) Party leader.

"That's what I've heared, there is footage and everything on the news, an emergency meeting has been announced for tomorrow." he replied.

"When did you hear of this?" asked Churchill.

"Just a few moments ago, a page from Pagniacci came to me and told me personally, I'm sure the same will happen for you." he said as he took a sip of his wine.

"Well that's just insanity!" exclaimed Churchill taking another large sip of his Vodka "How can the FDP possibly back out on our treaty I don't understand."

"From what I've heared there was some sort of miscommunication, possibly a mistranslation of our meeting yesterday. We have spies in our midst, inept spies, but spies none the less." he chuckled.

"I see no humor here Mr. Toulouse, we don't know how harshly these people are being treated by the Jews. But if you are correct, if this is a miscommunication how embarassing it must be for Israel." said Churchill, taking yet another large sip.

"Its not too important, they are gaining their peace, they have no other reason for discourse, this is their mistake not ours. Oh yes, have you met my wife Martha?" he said as she approached and shook Churchill's hand.

"A pleasure to finally meet you Mr. Churchill." she smiled.

"The pleasure is all mine Madame." he said as he finished his vodka "Another please!" he asked of the waiter.

"I told you sir, they can't be trusted, they're marching back into Venice now, did you know that?" said DeNucci.

"I've heared the news Tony, yes I am aware." said Pagniacci as he screened the room "Where is Curchill?"

"Doesn't look like he's here, how could you miss the fat bastard?" Tony replied.

"Sir, I advise that we send a force into the area to counterbalance this latest insurrection, I mean how could this possibly be the work of a peaceful nation?" asked Tony.

"Tony listen to me. It was a complete misunderstanding, how they could have possibly developed the notion that we are going back on our original deal is beyond me, however I am sure once we speak with them they will be more than assured that they will get their peace, especially when we come through with the deal, which we will, it was signed into law for Christ's sake!" he said "Where the hell is that man?"

"Prime Minister!" said an English voice from behind them "How do you do on this fine eve!" it was Winston Churchill.

"Ahh yes, just the man I've been looking for." said Pagniacci as he shook Churchill's hand "I would've sent my page, but I felt a man of your political stature must have the honor of a more personal meeting. Have you-"

"Yes Prime Minister, I have been told by the wiley French that our good friends in Jerusalem are getting antsy towards our peace. Clearly it must be a misunderstanding, and if it isn't well, I don't know maybe they are as stupid as we once believed." he said polishing off another drink.

"Mr. Churchill." said DeNucci as he extended his hand.

"And who, might I ask is this dashing young soldier?" said Churchill as he shook DeNucci's hand.

"Antonio DeNucci sir, Commander of Eurokorp's Russian detatchment, a pleasure to finally meet you sir." he replied.

"Ah yes, well I must say you've met me in quite the position" he leaned forward and then whispered "I am somewhat enebriated at the moment."

"Ah that's fine Mr. Churchill, in times like these some good old fashioned enebriation would do us all a lot of good." he said as Churchill laughed a little too loudly.

"Yes it is Winston, I am going to meet with Van Der Jagt in a moment to discuss placement of the buildings, would you like to join me?" asked Pagniacci.

"Yes sir, let me have another drink, its easier to deal with the Dutch under these pretenses..."

"General, get a hold of yourself right now! The Zulus are not, and have never been an aggressive people! Let this situation cool down and I believe the peace process can be put back into order. The Israelis are paranoid, and rightly so. We must but strong with them, but patient as well. If we play it too rough now, there will never be peace between our nations, and believe me, none of us want that! So cool it general! Go to Madagascar for a few days to relax and clear your mind. I need you stable! Do you understand?!" Kamma scolded the General, who was beginning to calm down.

"Yes Jula I understand."Shakeem said.

no that was never agreed, it was return of all of Europe for all of your colonies outside of Europe, except the one in Zula land of course

As far as artillery based garrisons we have next to nothing, infantry is low as well and our naval capability is nearly non existant. This represnts a breaking of our agrement that was discussed early in week. I cnat bleeive you would go back on an agreeemtn that ws so hard fought for by both sides as we endevoured to cros sthe great divide that separates our two nations. A peace agreemnt is broken when one side fails to comply wit htheir side of the agreement , you have lessened the offer, therefore you broke peace, Once again the FDP (formely Israelis) have shown they never break agreemtns or get aggresive until agreemtns are broken by others. You hav etotally changed your opinions as stated in ICQ . Which reaaly disapoints me as I was hoping to form astrong Europe/FDP partnership to rebuild together from our hated war, much in the same way that Mali/Israel partnered to strenght after our wars....

what difference does it make? so you lost 1/2 a turn and I lost a 1/2 turn -- just pick it up from wherever it is. So you did stuff that's not done...we believe you. You could just go back and redo it all or you can factor that in and just pick up where it is you guys both want to be on the other side of the peace treaty.
It would seem to me the major question in this whole diplo packet is who's supposed to be ending up with what where? If you agree exactly on what that is (off the same save, whatever that might be) then who cares? Just go on. Personally out of the last two sessions we've played I can say I've gotten ONE turn that "counted" in the final save. why go backwards? It's still your turn we start back up -- you can either redo what you did before or you can act like the treaty will come into efffect and adjust for that.
whining and namecalling doesn't make for great diplomacy all around. jeez, I'm already having to put up with the Nazi graphic crap from two different civs here; can't we just go on and try to get this game _somewhere_ instead of replaying crap over and over? if we all got the same save and that's the one I gave my sub then we should play it from there. everyone adjust (hey, I did stuff, too, before my turn froze up but I ain't whining about it)
