Yes, they are disimilar, but you still can't afford to lose an early city in either. But I think huts have a bigger impact than barbs in 1x. I like playing with both regardless of the settings.

      AH, when i play with Rah i play x2...when i play others i play x1....so ..... bleh.......

they are different games, so is x2 move....

so is not attacking till armour so are larger maps...

x1 barbs are no differnt than single player mode.....just attack out...pure and simple and take your lumps when it doesnt' work, and count your blessings when it does or when you get kings..

      med maps with villages...sigh...set, set , set , set , set,....for 4000 years......

Well, since we are unfortunate to play mostly 1 night stands, 2x prod at least keeps things exciting. If I was in more long term games, 1x would be more attractive.

yup, x2 unbalances the game, but its more enjoyable...kinda like a nice little hottie, good for the night and you can move on to the next one

My memory of those types of things are gone. Please rephrase it using a golf analogy.

Stick to your knitting War - I never play medium map - I agree those games are boring and slow, especially if you throw in stupid game slowing rules like no tech trading.

I play small map archi which puts land at a real premium - allowing 10 cities per player max. Barb hotspots on those maps at 1x can really unbalance play.

LH is way to important on Island worlds. But all the difference preferences and setups are why we're still playing this game.

lighthouse is my number one priority wonder in duels or games where i expect a lot of early warfare. its the best defence you can have against aggresive civs.

I certainly had fun using magellans against you.

LH is a great early wonder on water maps, but magellans is the true crown
