Since it's early in the game and we only have 7 cities to manage, this shouldn't take long. (Looks like ppl are taking about 8-10 turns?) I should be able to play and post between work/dinner and my weekly sojourn to Ming's place.

Figure about 0100 or so (GMT) tonight, Straybow.

          450 BC
          Not much...

          425 BC
Trireme loads NONE horsie at Antigizeh (not noticing the one already aboard

Horseback Riding discovered by our wise men.
Lit/Poly/Wheel are only choices. We decide, ummm -- Literacy, of course!
Trireme investigates south island. Horsie disembarks.

          350 BC
          Marsono builds phalanx, starts temple.
south island revbealed as 7-hex grassland with fish and whale.
One Wonders builds warrior, starts caravan

          325 BC
          a very boring time...

          300 BC
Bye Mike builds camel laden with dye, starts Phalanx
Not the Gardens completes settler, starts phalanx

          275 BC
Germans get Philosophy. English build Colossus of York.
          Settlers land on South Island.

          We are now 400,000 strong.

Settler found Hoover Sucks on south island.

          225 BC
Chinese build Hanging Gardens of Beijing.
Japanese, Celts foolishly set to work on Lighthouse.
We stay the course, using our shields more wisely...

-Jrabbit thirsty, head off to top-level strategy session at Ming's...

I downloaded the zip file and extracted it, I then had to manually change it to a .sav file to play but it worked fine.

Now where the hell is Straybow?

Thanks for the PM. Wasn't exactly a Party—a wedding, a gathering of old friends afterwards, etc. Plus Fridays and Mondays I work 2 jobs.

Will start scouting canal locations ASAP.

Sorry, NetZIP 6.51 can't handle any of the zipped files posted in this thread. Somebody help?

I did check out the .sav files through b850 for proper canal management.
Keinkoloss should've been built one tile NE. Now we'll have to move our non-Lighthoused, non-Magellaned ships the long way 'round.

OK guys, we have a problem --

-Jrabbit your file is NOT a valid zip file - could you send it unzipped? It would also help if you simplified the file name and avoided characters like '.' & '/' which can cause us poor DOS based users some problems.

I'll post in various formats tonight. Later, you can tell me what works for you.

BTW, I'll be out of town Friday 10/4, returning Wed 10/9. Will have my laptop with me, but that's NT4 (work machine), so I'll have Web access but no Civ access .
