  • Hey, Minister of War...

What are we doing about Cartenna, deep in the heart of the Carths? Should we want a Temple, or should we anticipate attack?

We have a lot of units in our cities not fortified. Is that intentional for some freedom of movement, is it to draw attack by the AI civs for some plan, or is it something that should be corrected?

What is that Naples Cavalry near Nepal doing? Is it going to attack the Partisan, attack the size 1 Mongol city, or retreat to one of our cities?

What are you recommending to do about that Mongol Destroyer next to Kazan?

It is going to take 25 turns for those Fighters in Quinsay to be completed. Do you want them rushed?

What do you want built in Kazan? City-Walls are going up now, but that can be changed.

Does it help Spies to be fortified? (most aren't, so I just wondered)...

What do *you* want built in Cremona? City Walls, Coastal Fortress, military units?

I need your input to know what to have my cities build that will best suit the needs of all the Ministers...

                q

Well, some of us have Sat. nights off, but I had just posted my poll.

I'm back after church and Mon. morning classes.

                Cavebear, to answer your questions;

                Cartenna:

I want to place a unit outside of Cartenna to attack any spies. I'm not worried about invasion at this point, although I do want to build another rifleman. I don't want the carthaginians to steal spaceflight and other space technologies and trade them to all the computer players.

Temple should be fine for now, followed by another rifleman.

Unfortified units? If they are calvary, fine. If they are riflemen, no. I want all the riflemen fortified, and all of the calvary left unfortified to respond to attacks.

As for the Mongol destroyer, we have a vet. rifleman in the city behind a coastal fortress. I plan to have one of the cruisers sent to sink the destroyer, but I hope the mongols will rush the city since their destroyer will be crushed.

Does it help Spies to be fortified? (most aren't, so I just wondered)...
Nope. No benefit to fortified spies, and I'd prefer to bribe/kill any incoming spies rather than attempt counter-espionage.

What do you want built in Kazan? City-Walls are going up now, but that can be changed.
                That's fine.

oing to take 25 turns for those Fighters in Quinsay to be completed. Do you want them rushed?
Yes, if the cash is there. We could really use a fighter. Will this cause discontent in Quinsay? If so, we can fly the fighter to one of the other cities and rehome.

What do *you* want built in Cremona? City Walls, Coastal Fortress, military units?
From a military standpoint, a cruiser.

What's the benefit in leaving the cavalry unfortified? (I didn't realise there was on!) Is this because you want them to do a short patrol each turn, or some other reason?

There is no benefit to leaving the calvary unfortified. Unless we plann to defend with the calvary, there is no reason to fortify the calvary.

It's just a helpful reminder that we have a unit available because if we fortify a unit it can be easy to forget that the unit is there.

OK, I can understand leaving a unit unfortified so that it reminds you it is there each turn. I often do that with Transports and Freights so I can find them easily. But I am cautious about leaving anything unfortified in an area where attack is likely to occur.
