Wow... 1K posts.
better make this one a doozy.
King Cavebear:
Let us greet our brave new citizens for founding the new cities of pestilence, devastation and our future SSC, Newton.
I am happy to report the imminent completion of the road from Newton to Dominion. It will now take a crusader 3 turns to traverse the 18 squares of terrain, a tremendous improvement in efficiency.
However, our lazy citizens still insist on growing excess food rather than bartering goods in scarce supply.
One example is the city of Enron:
Changing the special worked to the Fur will increase our trade by three, our beakers by 2 and coins by 1.
Another is our capital Imperialis.
Working the roaded grassland shield square increases trade by one, adding 1 coin.
This will triple our current tax surplus, from 1 to 3 gold per turn!
Now I also recommend raising taxes once we discover the technology of Monotheism, to encourage our restless young men both to worship in glorious cathedrals, and to embark on crusades to smite the infidels.
I also have noticed some shield support eroding our productive capacity. Outstanding examples are Dominion and majestica supporting units at a cost of 3 shields a turn!
I recommend building a city to rehome some of the units, and to also place some of the burden on any newly captured Japanese citizens. By eliminating support payments, we would increase production by 20% across the entire empire.
Finally, our buildlist:
No changes recommended, although we should see how viable a marketplace will be with tax at 60%.
