  • War plans Japan 725 BC

Things have changed since the last poll, the original plan was for 6 units in the attack of Kyoto but it seems only 4 will be in place, we lost one Horsey to the barbs and it seems the president chose to use the chariot to continue exploring rather than move it into place for the attack.

The 4 units shall be in place in 4 turns for an attack on the 5th. The forse is made up of 2 legion, 1 archer and a veteran horse.

I ask the people to vote as to continue with this attack or not.

Depends on where the Japanese Legion moves. If it heads west toward Kyoto, we can't stop it from entering the city. If it fortifies on the Mountain, we can move our Legion and Archer west. The Archer should be safe on a Mountain and we can block the Legion from defending the city. The other Legion will take 4 turns to get to Kyoto, so we have an extra turn to manuver the first Legion for blocking. The Horse can reveal a couple more squares on its way to the designated spot without wasting any turns by avoiding the forest square (by moving west, then south).

I had conflicting instructions for attacking Kyoto and popping huts. The Chariot was the one that found Monarchy.

The minister of war asks that the legion not be moved of its pathway as this would put it in harms way and severely damage the already weakened chances of success.

Since Kyoto doesn have any special defence bonus I'd say go for it

Though we know little about the Japanese, and little about what we are attacking, it still seems our best option, waiting with us nearby just gives them the opportunity to either build more units for defence or build more units for offense (and attack us in a pre-emtive strike)

Despite the change to the original plan, I think we need to attack at the first opportunity (when all units are in place).

Question is: If we attack can we hold on to what we take? A phyric (sorry about the spelling) victory is meaningless. We should attack when we have the momentum to follow through and totally obilterate the Japanese vermin.

Either that or throw bananas at them.

we have no idea how big the japanese are, if they prove large enough to halt our offensive, we'll at least have kyoto as a base to build a diplomat to establish an embassy with one of their nearby cities.

Attack the city and shake the japanese up a little bit. They will likely want peace afterwards, (and probably will request audiences as soon as we are within reach of the city.) so we can demand tribute or trade some tech.
