I'm liking the "Get Civilized" with Apolyton.net in the background. This gets at both time devouring activities: playing Civ and posting on ACS!!!

BTW THE T-SHIRTS ARE FINALLY GOING TO BE A REALITY!!!

I'm betting Markos is going to do the top 3. Either that or we're going to be seeing another poll with only 3 choices in the near future.

And just in case Mercator isn't totally trolling, Dan Quayle was George Bush's (the first one, not W.) vice president. He was known for being a complete idiot, proving once again that in the good old USA, good looks, a straight white smile, and connections with the Bush family can take you farther than you really have any right to go (either that or he had pictures of Bush senior doing something foul ).

Thanks, Spekter! I wasn´t trolling. Since I got Civ1 I´ve always been wondering who that bugger was. I knew he must´ve been American and not a U.S. president, but apart from that...

By the way, I wasn´t equating DanQ with Dan Quayle (as in being equally stupid or something), of course.

I voted for "You have unleashed a horde of barbarians!"
but I like too
"Get Civilized",
"You know you've played too much Civ when you wear a t-shirt like this",
"Our words are backed with NUCLEAR WEAPONS!".

I agree that first and last are too much related to inside game (version 2) quote, so they have some limit to gain a large appeal.

"You know you've played too much Civ when you wear a t-shirt like this" is a bit too long, but I wear a XXXL size anyway, hence plenty of available space, so size does matter sometime

"Get Civilized" with a www.apolyton.com on the background can be very good for a larger audience (I'm in favour of a more explicit "www." prefixed URL: you know anyone now understand it's a web address, geek or not )
"We are reducing all the complexity of billions of people over 6000 years into a Civ box. Let me say: That's not only a PkZip effort....it's a real 'picture to Jpeg heavy loss in translation' kind of thing."

With regard to the votes, Get Civilized is obvious. But if you considered making T-shirts to really get a giggle out of other Apolytonites out there:

"Gee Mrs. Johnson. Can Timmy log on to play?"

"No. Bloodlust is not the new Bronson movie."

"Happiness is a Wonder"

"Awe Mom! I clean my room on the next turn!"

You know, something that only envokes a short giggle from maybe one out of every 1000 people you meet.
There is no such thing as nothing!

Markos, make it tasteful and not too geeky. I really liked the version that ACOLkittty showed.

If you have to go with a geeky version, please also make a non-geeky (understated) version. And offer both. You said you would have multiple products...and there will be a lot of people like me who prefer the understated version.

And use some decent shirts. All the t-shirts I've bought overseas have been really lousy (don't even like to go running in them). Remember this site is comprised of poor HS and college students and overpaid 30somethings like me and Sten. Make sure you have both a good quality/understated/expensive product as well as a cheaper/more gaudy/less quality version.

Ummm...and I would pay decent money for a nice polo shirt (good material!!) that had a small, understated Apolyton logo...

No SMAC

Since I don't play Civ, I picked "just one more post" I also tend to agree with GP in that a plain version with just Apolyton should be offered since not all the people here play Civ. There is a thriving AC community here and it would be nice to see it represented.

LOL
OK, don't take me wrong but I'm laughing...
Until now I have never thought SMAC not to be a Civ-game. Since if you look at the history it isn't that hard to see were SMAC comes from.

So hope you'll excuse me, but IMHO SMAC is a Civ-game.
And Apolyton doesn't have CTP either mentioned... It too comes from Civ. So isit so hard to just have an Civ-game? (Oh, and do try the Civ-games sometime)

Haven't you learned that shouting isn't considered polite?

Question: Will there be
a) several quotes on the T-shirt
b) different T-shirt models with one quote per T-shirt
?
