    Thanks to all!

Well, the first version is kind of blurry, and the second is much clearer, but it looks like I've got the plague. The cut out looks the best, but I'm not sure I want it cut out. It makes me look like jesus or something, not sure how to put it. I do like the idea of rotating the thing. Can we take the image that was cut out, put it "back in" and then rotate it?

Again, Thanks for all the help,
    Exile

Must be the artifacts that's messing it up

      Hueij,

Maybe because there are a zillion ways to do this?

Well, I tried my hand at your photo Exile, and I came up with 4 results...

EDIT: and instead of having to save these images to your HD etc. Here´s a much simpler way:
              - copy the following URL, and paste it in the avatar URL location on your profile options... Oh, the copying should be done by right-clicking and choosing "copy shortcut" (or something along those lines, in IE5) since the URL that´s displayed is abbreviated with some dots in the middle.

If you don´t like the tilted one after all...

EDIT: or the URL for this picture:

                  So, how about Jesus?

And even more Jesus, just with a bit of an icon look to it.

EDIT: and the location for the last possible avatar...

Hope that wasn´t too much of a spamming business.

                      LOL

                      Pretty funny stuff.

My question is how does General Maximus work it so he has a full sized avatar. Even though it is annoying because of it's size, it still looks cool. You can check it out in almost any of the CivII MP threads.

Hey, yes! that´s a nice looking avatar , rather big indeed.

I think the maximum of 64 pixels width/height is just a guideline, which the administrator hope people will follow. The only real limitation is the size, I think. And apparently, none of the moderators have yet seen the avatar of General Maximus, so no-one has yet told him to decrease the size a little. Oh well...

OK, Mercator; LMMFAO! JESUS!! Strange thing, though; I actually like the first one. Think I'll try to use it. I just saw it and had to write this, so now I'll go back and see if I can follow your instructions on how to put the thing in place.

I will probably screw up, so you should be hearing from me again before this is over.

                          Thanks,

edit; ok, I wanna use the avatar in the "how about Jesus" post," the first one with the "sunburst" effect. I right-clicked and did the shortcut thing, then click on the control panel, clicked on options, and then what? how do I put the url in the little space?

Click in the text-box so that the cursor will appear there and then press ctrl+v to paste the url.

                              ok, now . . .

I tried that and got a message saying, "cannot find the specified url " (or something like that.)

                              What did I do wrong?

can I just type in the entire url? If you'll provide it, I'll just do that.

                                Test.

                                We'll see if it worked.
