how hard is it to make a hotmail account that you will never check(but will stop any emails to you bouncing back to us)?

Actually, Mark, I don't have a clue how to make a hotmail account. Perhaps if you included instructions, instead of assuming "everyone knows that", folk might find it easier to comply.

So, how does one set up a hotmail account?? Are there other options that might be better?? What alternatives do others use?? Thanks....

Go to hotmail.com, and click on 'create new account', or words to that effect.

Well, it COULD have been harder....

What about the choice, or, are others better??

You could try several of the existing free options, including www.hotmail.com and www.yahoo.com. Also, most current internet packages include 3+ free addresses (cable or dsl usually comes with 10+). A third option is sending the mail to your real address but unchecking the relevant options in your profile > options > Messaging & Notification.

                    • Yes, yes!! The Queen of Hearts Solution is called for, definitely. MY asking is a seek for basic info on the subject as I need to get a second e-mail and wondered what the experience of others has been.

Hope you cheer up soon, Raz. Out-of-sorts monks are dangerous, after all.

                      • www.fastmail.fm is a great free email provider that doesn't let spam get to your account.
I'm building a wagon! On some other part of the internets, obviously (but not that other site).

As I understand it, Hotmail deactivates any account not updated within a certain period of time (hence the problem with the Hotmail addy you currently have).

                          • whew! that was a close one. I updated my e-mail and I couldn't post anymore. And I was being sent a confirmation e-mail, but it never came. I checked several times. I ended up changing to my Yahoo account.

I guess I didn't really need to change it. But my ISP changed my e-mail from lvcm.com to cox.net. So I figured I'd update this one. Although I guess my old email is still working if my e-mails haven't been bouncing.

                                a tad harsh old chap

I got banned, and was still receiving notifications of threads...

all because my hotmail account was full of PBEM game saves

so now the saves go to a different account than the notifications

                                ahh it is all good
