  • Some Civ-groups images not shown

When viewing threads, some of the small .gif's that indicate what civ groups posters are a member of, are not shown. It gets kinda annoying, since the layout of the thread gets all jumbled.

I have noticed this with Call to Power: Superleague, and with the Exodus Demo Game from the Civ II forums.

    Could someone please fix this?

Exodus Demo Game from the Civ II forums.
We have not yet finalised the design of the civgroup icon, so this has nothing to do with Dan.

The CTP2 one is working fine and since it's the only one I'm a member of it's the only one I care about.

There have been some "problems". Dan is looking into it.
It's almost as if all his overconfident, absolutist assertions were spoonfed to him by a trusted website or subreddit. Sheeple

The NeuDemogyptica one from the PTWDG is also having issues.

It seems to be some images only being on the forum http server and not on the imageserver.

That's what Frozzy said in the SuperLeague forum...

He said the estimated fix time is sometime October.

No, that's just my personal opinion, because that's when Markos said he would be "less busy" in the army, IIRC.

For all we know it could well be next year until it is fixed, but hopefully not

Well, depending on what the actual reason for the error is it might take different time... I thought that the image server were more or less a direct mirror of the forum server using the same files, just different http deamons, but it seemas as if I've been wrong...

Okay. But in that case it should be possible for the script to filter out those images that can not be shown, for one reason or the other.

As it is now, it is certainly not pretty to look at!!!

Yeah... it does look bad... as I and a few others have pointed out to Dan. His response is that he is aware of the problem, and seeing what needs to be done about it.

I am aware of this problem and it is on my perpetually never-ending and way-too-long "to do" list.

Thanks to everyone for their continued patience on this.

Then perhaps the Exodus group and any others draging their feet could submit a temporary blank to be used until they get over their "creative differences."
