An aide burst into the Supervisory Council "Foreman, we have a communication from the prophet !!"

The foreman grabbed the out-thrust dispatch and read intently. His countenance became one of annoyance as he read the message to his fellow supervisors, " get this gang. . . . This is the very first message from the prophet and he doesn't even bother with a hello. Instead he makes some outrageous demands and states that if we do not comply there will be unpleasantness. Well I say we can never give in to such blackmail. History shows that appeasement never works. So if the prophet sees fit to attack us, so be it. Our troops are strong and the additions of resonance and trance armours to our units will stand them in good stead against any worm interlopers."

The aide looked at cbn "what response should we send back?"

"Tell them we will consider tech trades or deals of mutual benefit but that we will not give in to threats, in particular since we have an able military ready to defend our lands. Stress our willingness for peace but concede NOTHING. meanwhile I want All my military chiefs of staff in the situation room immediately for risk assessment and scenarios. I propose that we send units . . . . . ."

Later the same day. . . . .on the evening vidcom

"Channel 10 investigative reporter Gotit Wright has learned that Drone military and national guard units were mobolized today across the Drone homeland. Military spokesmen are portraying this as a "routine" exercize but insiders report that this is the largest mobilization of manpower in the history of the Drones. There is unconfirmed speculation that we are at war with the cult but this could not be confirmed at this time. A military spokesman would only say that contact had been made with cult units and while tensions were high, the units were holding their fire while a diplomatic solution was sought. The spokesman did admit that communications with the front lines are spotty and that we will not know the true situation until "the Turn Comes Back".

The Minister of defense downplayed the possibility of conflict stating that the Drones strong defenses should deter any Cult aggression. He did, however, call for an 37 % increase in military spending and research and announced the award of several defense contracts and the formation of several new units.

The situation room was grim " sir it appears that we are at war with the cult. Details are sketchy but they are claiming two victories. They must have made an unprovoked attack on our unarmoured explorers. Those units were part of our voyagers group.

Cbn gasped "Voyagers !! Aren't they the youth group we formed for the graduates of the boy scouts !!! They are not even armed with anything more than a hand weapon to deter wild animals. They are not even really in the military, alll they do is orienteering and surveying. The Drone population and all of Planet will be outraged at this attack."

" all factories are to be turned to immediate military production. Call out the elite squadrons and go to immediate war footing. Call the minister of the navy and get him here immediately !!"

We have made contact with both the Peacekeepers and the Spartans over the last two years. Talk about two factions on the polar opposites of the philosophical spectrum. One wants peace, other wants war.

Luckily we have an informal truce with each faction, but the Spartans have already shown a distaste for our faction's societal value of Wealth. I fear the Spartans might join the Cyborgs in declaring Vendetta against us if we continue to demonstrate weakness towards them. As one of my military advisers colorfully pointed out, "They look like hungry wolves, and we must look like a juicy lamb to them."

As for the Peacekeepers, I have a feeling that Commissioner Lal will be willing to talk terms of a peace treaty. He seems to be the type who favors Democratic peace-loving factions like ours.
