Travkin, see if this will help you. I tried Poly instruction myself once and was not successful but I was able to set it up following that instruction later.

No not yet, but will do it tomorrow - want to go home (it's 19:30 by me and I'm quite tired)

First, obtain a copy of mIRC from www.mirc.com. It's free!
Once that's installed, start up the program. The first thing you'll see is the message from the maker of the program. Just lick the nice little red X in the upper right corner to close that window and get on with the program.
You will then be presented with the options screen. You should set your personal nick. As you can see from the image below, you just type in your nick behind "Nickname" and an alternative version (in case you lose connection and have to rejoin) under "Alternate".
You need to select what server you will be connecting to. Most likely, we will be using either Apolyton, Undernet, or DalNet.
In case it's the Apolyton server, you can set that up by clicking on the "Add" button you see in the upper right of the first image.

Clicking "Add" has now brought up a new window, which is the one you see below in this post. You will need to type in "Apolyton" in the Description, "Apolyton.net" in the IRC Server and "6667" as the port. Then click the "OK".

Once connected to the Apolyton server and all of the text has stopped moving on the connection screen, go to the command line at the bottom and type in the following and press return:
/join #channel password
(obviously, replace "channel" with the channel name and "password" with the password)
You can type things into the command line to chat with the rest those in the channel. To simply chat, it's really that simple.

Count me out of mIRC summit - unless it is this weekend it is impossible I can attend. I am going to Siscia for couple of days and since I don't have a laptop I doubt I can attend it. CT, be free to organize it. BTW great work Snowflake

Thanx Snowflake!
I will install and configure mIRC ASAP, but that will be no sooner than next monday.

Saturday? At that particular time, I might have about... half an hour still on Irc. So I should be there... if I can find the Civgaming IRC server, which I doubt I have.... same setup as 'poly?
