  • Turn's in!

Normally I wouldn't play it with so little feedback, but most of the turn has been decided ahead of time. With no direct feedback on the unity foil, I'm going to try to move it through the fungus, running if it finds an IoD.

      • Plan of Action for 2118

        Heal mind worm

        Unity rover continues to explore

        Unity foil heads along coastline

CP #4 moves towards its base site

Spore launcher scouts, heading towards a base to garrison (which base?)

        Decisions:

What to produce in bases #2 and 3?

What to do with the CPs? It seems risky to move Gaia's Landing's scout all the way to base #3, leaving nothing near HQ but the former, which is itself moving away, but we could move the spore launcher there

What about our sliders? Right now they're at 80/20. This yields ~5 labs and 2 econ. If we go 90/10, we gain 1 lab at the cost of 2 econ. If we go 50/50, we gain 1 econ at the cost of 1 lab. The 40 ECs for planned is a bit more in reach with our new 10 ECs.

          • We should move the spore launcher near GL. I must the presend before I comment sliders.

SP's I think you mean, not CPs (I wish!)

After the MW heals to 80+% it can explore on it's own. Finishing the exploration of the south would be nice. The rover can converge with the unity foil at a later date to go explore another continent...

I post the paths I suggest. Spore Launcher and Scout can converge on the rocky unity pod, trolling on the way. Production looks fine to me. FT is a little low on nuts to start another CP straight away. Former or Probe are good. Former.

So the new base got a probe in the queue? How's about a Former or Scout? Edit: We'll lose minerals if we switch now, but it's only 1 mineral.

The Unity foil doesn't need to hug our coast. Those 2 squares will be discovered by the rover. Instead, explore a little further out I suggest.

              • Ok, small update on other factions - Angels and Morgan have 4 pop points, while Santi has 3 points. Our current tech cost is 49 - which means breaktrough in 8 years. Whit 10/0/90 this is breakthrough in 9 years with 50 it is 10 years.

                • And base 4 will quicken that by 1-2 years most likely.

                  • So let's update options:
it will take 3 more turns to start getting resources from 4th base which will then net additional 2 ec. Now we earn 8ec per turn of which 6 go to research. After three years we will have 19 ec accumulated and 23 of 49 research point accumulated. Then we will get additional 4 ec for a total of 12 energy per turn - with 20/0/80 it will net 9.6 research points and 2.4 energy. - tech finished in six turns.

                    • Should we plan to make contact with another faction - unity foil needs five or four moves to get to the next landmass from current position - if we load it with unity rover we are certain to make contact! I am sure we can estabblish contact with another faction in ten years. So when should we commence with this plan?

                      • Chaos, if you have time, could you report lab points/total and EC's? I don't want to load the turn to find out. I didn't realize how far from Planned we really are! If it's a bother or you forget, not a problem.

                        • If we run into Morgans or Spartans we could coordinate or sell research (to get ecs for SE and hurrying), but if we run into Angels - well - they are the only that currently got all tech we do have. I hope we are not of that bad luck. Anyway, as soon as we identify faction near us. I am sure I could guess where are other two factions, since I could deduct placing pattern.

                          • Energy totals per base:

                            Gaia's Landing: 3 labs, 1 econ
                            Base #2: 1 lab
                            Base #3: 2 labs, 1 econ
                            Projected base #4: 3 labs, 1 econ

                            • Thanks. I realize that my post above sounds soooo lazy! I mean, for the long run, if when you play the turn you could jot that stuff down or screen-cap it.

                              • Well, since I play the turn, I end up memorizing the values. When we have more bases with more volatile populations, I won't be able to do that, but it's still early.
