Can you elaborate on the political status?

If we can't do the Pact, what sort of trading would you like to do?

Although I prefer the idea of the pact because it doubles commerce income, I am open to suggestions.

From Chaos Theory - Gaians

We had some communications problems with the Spartans. As a result, I was holding off on downloading the turn to allow more time to sort them out.

Basically, the Spartans wanted confirmation regarding a potential trade for Ecological Engineering. I left town, and no one else got back to them. By the time I responded, it was too late. I haven't followed the trading very closely and can't say who is supposed to get what.

I write the answer:

Thank you for the message. We have received the Ecological Engineering technology from you. Due to increased star activity we may discover the next technology much sooner. In order to switch to Cyberethics wothout loss of lab points we need the Intellectual Integrity in the near future.

Regarding the technological trade, we should come to an agreement soon. I will initiate talks regarding this issue.

Eventis recently had problems, I will try to get inside the embassy soon. For the time being we may stay in touch through this communication channel.

This renders the Spartan-Gaian-Data Angels agreement possibly not going to happen. According to the agreement Spartans were supposed to provide you with Ecological Engineering so you can without loss switch to Intellectual Integrity and provide it to us, so we can without loss switch to Cyberethics. This way we probably complete Intelectual Integrity and not Cyberethics.

It is not good turn out of the events. It seems we lacked sufficient cooperation on that agreement.

Let me explain.

We asked from the Gaians several days ago, when would they be gaining EcolEng and by what time should we deliver it to them. The Gaians stated that they had no accurate information on this date because their energy rates would be changing over time.

Hence when Googlie posted our latest turn on to the Gaians, we did not place EcolEng on the table preaccepted. A message from the Gaians that I received later that day stated that the Gaians would be getting EcolEng on the very same turn and that we should have placed EcolEng preaccepted on the table, lest the Gaians research it before we can transmit it to them.

Obviously, this hasn't been accomplished due to the lateness of Gaian response and their evasiveness in providing us information crucial to this exchange. Chaos Theory has placed the blame tentatively on low team activity which is slowing down their decision-making process - these may indeed be trying times for their faction. Drogue has also told us that according to the rules, we may not replay the save to place the tech on the table. This means that the trade is effectively beyond salvaging.

Regardless, we are still very interested in acquiring Intellectual Integrity directly from you.

There seems to be a problem in Gaian Union with members activity. Illuminatus should have stayed a bit longer. It just costed us opportunity to get yet another technology. Not good for the relations too. Probably Spartan-Gaian relations will worsen again...

It is not a good turn out of events. I hope your relations with the Gaian Union will not worsen. We really lacked enough cooperation on that agreement. However, I can see that little could be done from our side apart from maybe warning Gaians that some safety margin of mission years might be considered. This would be, though, seen probably as impolite by Gaian Lords. Let's hope we will do better on the next one.

In this case we will complete Intellectual Integrity of course. Regarding estimated time of completion of this technology, as you may know, there is recent increased activity of the primary star, due to which we will have very large amount of energy soon. As previously the estimate was 2166-67, now my guess is 2164-65.

Spartans should have pre accepted Ecol Eng as soon as they discovered it as per agreement.
Gaians should have been more alert.

Question If we then go on to discover Intel Integ (in 2163/4) can we pre accept to Gaians so that they can discover Cyberethics and get us all back on course.
