  • I was planning for that, actually.

    1. Defend early rush, weakening rushers.
    2. Build it up, harassing the weaker.
    3. Backstab your building rival.
    4. Outvote the weakened survivors.

If I could pick my diplomacy like I could change clothes, I'd go:
    1. Gaians//Spartans vs. Angels//Morgan
    2. Gaians//Morgan vs. Angels//Spartans
    3. Gaians//Angels vs. Morgan//Spartans
    4. Gaians vs. Angels

    But it's rarely so easy.
So, at the start, I pick Angels.
That way Morgan and I don't get rovered and probed,
and I'm not stuck building with Santi,
and I have a decent chance of outbuilding you or winning a war against you later.

    • Longterm plans are all very nice and well, but they rarely stand the test of time. Most likely you'll just be forced to cooperate with whoever meets you first, if you want to keep up with everyone else.

      • Quite correct, Maniac, but it's possible to have two factions arrange to meet each-other.
Spartans will probably be the first to meet anyone with her Doc:Flex.
Depending on who Spartans meet, I will choose my tactic.

If Spartans meet Gaians, I'll use their ships to collect IoDs and crush you all early.
If Spartans meet Morgan, We'll out-expand them for a win in the midgame.
If Spartans meet Angels, Morgan and I are building it up, and staving you off until we win in the late game.
If Sparta sits on their ass, I'll take over an AI early with worms, and use the territorial advantage to win.

        So basically...
I win. It's just a matter of timing.
