This shall be and must be recited every day when you wake up, and shall be the last thing you say before you sleep, and the last thing you say before you die and go into the tanks to become one with all the people.
Welcome Comrade Haon, we could use a new People's Minister of Industry and Development, I'm certain you'll be perfect for the post. Be sure to join the private forums if you already haven't applied to do so (I'll approve you as soon as I can get the damn function working, stupid good for nothing University computers).

I'll go Hive, seeing as it is the largest team, and can probably afford having a member without Alien crossfire. Besides, I don't feel like thinking freely for a while...
Hello, I'm new to the Forum.
I have been searching for a way to play SMAC online for a long time now and had given up a month before. Came upon this site by pure accident. Joined on the spot. Now I am looking to join a team. I do not have Alien Crossfire (I'm broke ).
I am asking to become part of the Nautilus Pirates.
"War forced us into the seas. When we came back upon the surface, it was a ruined and desolate place. We knew that it was not long before even the most secluded spot in the seas of Earth was polluted, so we left to the the sea of stars. That is how we came to be on Chiron."

The Party and People of the Human Hive welcome you Comrade Octavian. You will be a great asset in our revolutionary struggle towards socialism.

I wish to protest Tassadar's action. He has seen our private forum and knows what we're currently planning, and in order to avoid having this seep into the Hive forum it would be encessary for him to effectively muzzle himself, which I don't expect him to do. It would be no mroe fair to allow Tass to switch teams with what he knows than it would be for the Hive to read the UoP private forums, or vice versa.
There are no official provisions that state a player cannot defect, in fact it adds an interesting element to the game by forcing a faction to possibly change its plans, etc.

And you can easily muzzle yourself in the forums while saying it all in IM's and PM's, as you very well know.
Anyone could easily do that while signed up to a faction.
I suppose you will simply have to trust me, for I give you my word that I will speak nothing of the knowledge I know of the University plans. (What little I know of them, anyway)
There were no official provisions because the issue was never resolved - and you should remember that I raised precisely this issue when the subject was first brought up. And I do not consider it in any way fair to force a faction to assume that everything they've done is now known to another team because a player decided to switch sides.

However, yet still there were no official provisions. It is irrelevant as to whether they were solved or not. One cannot say that something is illegal simply because it was never resolved, for it remains illegal until declared illegal.
And you need not assume anything, for again I will not reveal University intelligence to the Hive. And yet again, it is just as easy for someone to go into a faction and begin sending PMs or IMs to another faction without detection. Ultimately everyone will have to be trusted, and I've been here long enough so that I do care about my reputation and I will NOT reveal anything to the Hive as it would have negative consequences.
