Though from the story, it's rather plain to see that while a Hive Computer joined a dead PK Talent to make a Cyborg, there were others beforehand. In the extended SMAX story which you can download from Firaxis, the UoP and Cyborgs allied against the Cult and Drones to try and protect the Alien Temple, before the Pirates stole part of the Temple being transported back to University Base.

He didn't really want to play with a democracy team (please correct if i'm completely wrong), more on his own, perhaps together with Triped for discussing strategy, as in a normal PBEM style. I'd suggest not to allow further recruitment in the Drone team, so we get more people for the real democracy teams.
