The just newly released CPT fixes the compatibility issue. It was becases 1.21f introduced compressed saves, which messed it all up.

Finally, I can play the map properly. I like it.

City naming

I seem to have hit a problem. Playing as the Germans, when I try to found a second city the autoname comes out as Berlin, the same as my capital. This only happens on Marla's map, though. I'm using a fresh install of everything, with 1.21f and the newer version of CPT. I looked at the .bic file, but according to it the Germans only have one Berlin. THis hasn't happened with any other civ either.

yes I know fix for this...

open that marla map with civ3editor and find place where are all civilizations... Then take german. Now you see city names. click the Berlin and you see that there is one extra space push (I dont know how explain it better) after Berlin, delete it. Every german city has this extra space push so you have to delete it for every city. If you dont understand this take france and look the end of first city then look back german end of first city. Now you see there no extra space push in france cities...

No horses in american continent on Marla's map ??

Now, this is the first time i started to play Marla's earth map after version 1.07, and as i recall back then there were horses on american continent too, now there is not a single horse there ?

Do i remember wrong or has it been modified or is this some patch bug ?

If this is the way Marla intended it, then its pretty strange, because as far as i know native americans used to ride horses.

Native americans startyed to use horses when they were brought over by the Europeans.

I think it is indeed time for another map update. Include the new CPT, and the German city fix. Among others, if there are any.

However, I think that removing horses from NA, though historically correct, just doesn't quite work, for this simple reason: America didn't exist until after horses were brought. It was founded by British, just like the horses were brought over by British. I think that it would be wiser to put in at least a few horse resources.

Marla's map , well , one could write a couple harddisk's about it , ......

size , well someone is currently redoing it a bit , using the 49 square's on the bottom (or top) and making europe a bit bigger , same for jap's and a couple other places , so that one can play even more .

of course if some people are so "concerned" abou others working their behind's off , they could alway's start themself , ...........

afterall civ3 is about a game , and fun , not about ordering people around , because afterall , these people , who create mod's and map's do it for free , so maybe a little bit of respect and credit should go to these people , .............

last but not least , most people on this site have some IQ of at least 3 , 1; they have a comp and an outline , 2; they hve "heard" about civ , any number and last but not least 3 ; they found their way to apolyton


as for the rest , i would tend to say that Vonotar is in charge of the map , because one way or an other Marla seems to be gone for now , and what ever reason that is , i believe that it is not evenours to ask even , why ? , that is ones good right

Most CEO's are overpaid Morons that eventually get the VERY GOLDEN hanshake. It is to bad company Board Of Directors pay these parisites so much for their worthless time. Most employees have far more brains then these clowns will ever have. However the dopes are better golfers and bullsxxxers then most workers.

yes panag, i seriously demand that Marla or anyone else obey my brutal dictats. The main points of my post were not "Brilliant map Marla" with some tongue-in-cheeky text to fill up space as is the nature of my personality. The main point of my post was obviously my power-crazy attitude to life and the very serious expectation of me to think that complete strangers who have obviously spent a hell of alot of hard-work/time/and energy making a map should now- in all sincerety- hurry up and churn out a couple more maps in 24 hours at my behest-

Unless english is not your first language, in which case I can assume something was lost in the translation- thus excusing you from not percieving the obviously light-hearted nature of my previous post.
