Call To Power 2 Cradle 3+ mod in progress: https://apolyton.net/forum/other-games/call-to-power-2/ctp2-creation/9437883-making-cradle-3-fully-compatible-with-the-apolyton-edition
I think I will put new units to this map. If I edit the original civ3mod.bic those new units will not come to marlas map, only to random map. This because marlas map has it own .bic... So I have to edit marlas .bic to add new units. I will take those units from this forums and I will check them with animation shop...
So if you want me to add something resourses somewhere it really belongs tell here and I will fix it. Also if you have noticed that some civilization needs balance (does it have too much resourses or does it need more)
tell here...

Anyway moving on- I've been playing this wonderful map, starting with second-level difficulty just to get a taste of it, and I'm now in the modern age. Here's my question- how do you feel the AI handles a map of this size? in my game so far it doesn't seem to be up to it, lots of holes and distributed nations, but then its only on Warlord difficulty. Also, has anyone changed the range of aircraft and ships etc for the map for gameplay purposes?
As an aside, it occurs to me that a good strategy game that gives a realistic model of history can be measured by how well it can be played on a map of the world as realistic as the MarlaM.
I'm wondering, is Marla, or anyone for that matter, thinking of modifying the earth map once the C3 expansion comes out, to account for the 8 new civs and MP support? 'cause I love this map, used with CPT, but I'd rather have the 8 new civs than the map (no offence meant). This likely wont be, though, as with 8 new civs the map would probably need to be quite a bit bigger to support them all, and not squish everyone into 3 colonies each.
BTW, I feel rude for having not said it already , but Great map, Marla. I love the detail and accuracy, and the CPT support as well. You must have put a lot of effort into this map. Thank you!
Hello everybody, I am very dim and/or a newbie to Civ3 and maybe even a member of the Objectivity party (grin) but the long and short of it is
1) Where should I download the Marla Map suitable for the latest patch of Civ3?
and
2) How on (Marla's) earth do I get the Civs in their right places? I tried using the CPT (Civ Placement Tool) but unfortunately I am thick and so it didn't work. How do you guys go about getting them placed?
These answers have probably been given elsewhere in this post, but Poly is really slow right now and the forum search throws up too many spurious results. If somebody out there knows, and doesn't want to pollute this thread with repetitions, then sling me a Private Message and I shall understand
PS "Newbie" means "cool" or "wicked" or "awesome" in Chinese slang, but literally it means something very rude.
With Marlas permission I went ahead and in my opinion improved the map, provided worthwhile rule changes and provided accurate resource/luxury locations. The details of most of the changes are in the thread I made and readme file.
Over 3000 downloads and certainly a group of fans...and indeed I will be putting alot of work to improve it when I get the time. I hope to have version 9 out by Sunday night and it should have some pretty significant improvements.

hi ,
one person who can learn you a lot is Gramphos , read his post's , .....and his threads , ...
Has someone noticed that the Iroquois special unit is a mounted warrior, yet no horses in North America.
I know why there are no horses, but then again, the iroquois special unit needs to be something else.

hi ,
there are horses , but if you give the Iroquois these to fast , they start to run over all the continent , ...
Akoaz--I made a personal edit of it which assigns the correct start locations, eliminating the need for Gramphos's MultiTool to do this each time you start a new game, plus one or two other little rule tweaks which I can't offhand remember. I haven't had time to play that much since 1.29f was released, but I plan on wiping my calendar for a little test run of it this week. (As full as my calendar was this week. ) I'll post results if I get a chance, along with personal rule changes. I have played enough not to encounter any strange crashes...at least before the end of the ancient era.
As far as its size, I know it's one of the big bruisers, and it may well be the largest map out there. Most likely in the top two. To my knowledge, the size hasn't changed since it came out, but I could well be wrong. It's not that much different, if the size was in fact changed.
EDIT: My rule changes were not really rule changes. I just diddled around with the names of the Great Leaders...I couldn't have a game without knowing Patton was out there somewhere, potentially ready to kill me off.
