I still think they'll patch it, before complete comes out, or shortly after. This doesn't save them in my eyes though, since it will be a year or so after release............again.

yes and no. it's the same codebase, but seeing that firaxis are concentrating their resources towards civ3complete, means that some more things have to be changed. it won't have the same exe-files.Originally posted by MrWhereItsAt
Errr... as far as I'm aware Civ3 Complete will just be the game and the two add-ons included. Thus any patch that could conceivably come out afterwards would be useful for Conquests as it is now.
so IF they eventually bring out a patch for complete and IF they will recompile conquests, then we may hope.
DrSpike: jesse emphasised that no patch will be released before complete.
btw, didn't ptw-patch 1.27 come out nearly a year after ptw?- Artificial Intelligence usually beats real stupidity

Q: When will it be available in stores?
A: They hope to release it somewhere in Q4 2004, but there is no official release date yet. Some sites says November 16th, 2004, which at this moment seems reasonable.
Q: Will there be a beta?
A: Yes, it's said to be beta-test in August - but nothing official yet.- Artificial Intelligence usually beats real stupidity

wait a minute. We have to rebuy the Civ 3 package to get the latest patch?
or does the Civ : Complete speculation imply that we won't see a patch until that version is released?AI:C3C Debug Game Report (Part1) :C3C Debug Game Report (Part2)

but don't forget: some things got patched in C3C, like the way the FP works, the corruption was reduced, some units were changes, etc. PTW however stayed the same, even though that could have effected PTW too (war elephant and GS are completely different units now...).- Artificial Intelligence usually beats real stupidity

Anyway, I don't see getting patch resonably before Pirates get out (or at least until it gets beta).
The resons why patch is on hold are that Pirates need people, Civ3: Complete would be delayed if there is another patch before it, and that current patching team was not up to the task.

Ugh, you know i've been patient with all Firaxis does. Expecting that in the end, at least the bugs will get fixed. Now that doesn't even seem likely since they're wasting time putting out the three games combined to milk the few people out there who haven't heard of Civ3 and are too stupid to buy Civ3: Original and Civ3: Conquests for cheap. Makes me sick really.
I guess all I can hope is that whenever a Civ4 is made it won't be an extremely chopped down buggy version. IE, lots of civs at the start instead of having to buy two expansions to give a good spread of civilizations. But thats probably just me deluding myself. The best I can hope for is them releasing a good scenario editor in one of Civ4's many expansions.
I think that is what bugs me about Civ3 and probably Civ4. It could be amazing, if they only tried a little harder.Last edited by ChaotikVisions; July 26, 2004, 13:22."Every good communist should know political power grows out of the barrel of a gun." - Mao tse-Tung

), that not even Firaxis would try and make you buy Complete just to make the game we already paid for, well, complete.
