Once or twice only, and then only to play some good old Civ2 scenarios I had that were better than the cruddy stock Civ3 scenario editor. That's no longer a problem with PTW and now C3C.

It's easy to romanticize how wonderful Civ2 is because it really was an awesome game, for its time.

I have played it once or twice since 3 came out and, frankly, the romance is dead. Stupid things like stack death, overpowered Diplomats, ICS and much much more make the game seem more than a little outdated.

Caveat: I am an SP only player.

civ 3 quickly became a drink coaster as civ 2 returned to its rightful place on my pc

Perhaps a good poll would be "How many times did you play Civ3 before going back to Civ2?"

I play SMAC and civ2, because civ3 is complete and utter poop.

When I first got (vanilla) Civ3 I found myself running back to CtP2 but now it is much better.

Pherhaps I'll install CtPII once more if I'm having some spare time.......... but don't count on it

Ahh, people who are in doubt. Which is why I have a comprehensive listing of CtP2/Civ3 differences, a comparison and reasons to play one game over the other .

CyberShy, if you read that, you'd be playing CtP2...

Yeah its strange, like we're all drawn to comparison threads, theres always bound to be someone bashing CtP in them.

I suppose you're talking about football? If so, they don't need your support. What they need are some good forwards.

Come on now, bring in your friends. I want some more people voting for the option "I play crappy games like CtP"!
