what level is the highest you can win most of the time?
Alright. Well, I went to create an account, but I didn't realize that my storage box was full, so I didn't get the activation e-mail, and they don't let you use more than one account per e-mail. So, I need to close the aco****, but I don't see any option there that lets me. Is it possible to close your account on CFC?

Sure - just email or PM the mods. That's what they're there for.
As for general strategy, poke around the Civilization 3 - Strategy forum. There are LOADS of good threads there, if you are prepared to look back as much as a couple of years (Civ3 was released around November 2001, and much good strategy came from the first half of '02 and onwards). One of the topped threads in that forum has a great selection of links to terrific strat threads.
Of course if you have specific questions then fire away.

Email Thunderfall (at CFC) and he can send you another activation e-mail (or just activate your account for you).
for me, it's emperor. i win (or would win) most of the games i play (some restarts if starting location sucks too much).
but demigod is just too difficult for a regular win. i don't like the beeline-to-great library-exploit and the AI with 2 starting settlers and 30% (iirc) cheaper production gets ahead of me too fast. also, goody huts never give me anything nice at this level

that was a great game
i was known as the xenobiologist... often got 15 techs from ancient settlements... i loved getting nano-energy, nano-blasters, and orbital defence systems millenia before the rest
kept me going and going and going... not like MoO3 which i gave up after noticing i just didn't have the brains (or the nerves) for it

Sid is not as difficult as it is made out to be, it just requires more tedium.
At any difficulty if you can survive to the industrial age with even a mediocre empire and are on par with the ai on tech, it is no problem winning. The ai is far too inefficient with its factories. If you dont beleive me, spy on an ai capital in the industrial age, notice how it produces about 30 shields. Surviving to the industrial age is your primary goal in sid.
The hardest thing to do is keep up in the tech race. To do this i recomend talking to pretty much every ai every turn to see if there are any good deals. Defeating an ai military can also be difficult, for this reason being militaristic is surprisingly useful. Anything to increase your chance for an army is very good.
My last recomendation is to make use of every shield you get. Efficiency must be at a maximum to stand a chance, this is an area that Dominea is probobly the best at.
I've been winning consistently on emperor lately. But, I still get nervous each time I start an emperor game.

Quit being such a wimp.
On my current emperor game (small map, Maya, Pangaea), I got a start with 2 cows 1 gold 1 game, and 1 wheat. I am in the late ancient age and now I have the biggest empire thanks to my settler factory.
I wish I was lucky enough to get 4 bonus resources in my starting area. I always have strategic resources but I almost never have luxury or bonus resources, makes things hard. The computer always hates me even when I don't do any ROP rapes or military alliance breakings, and I never raze cities unless it forces me to.

I have played a couple of Emperor games and won them all. But what are you allowed to do? I usually take a couple of rounds to check out the nearest sorroundings and if things goes bad I re-load. I'm sure I could win at deuty level with this method, but I would take more saves and re-loads, perhaps so many that it would spoil the fun.
