I can only say that whatever says on www.civ3.com is wrong, since site isn't updated when 1.22 arrived.

    And 1.22 is the patch.
    No beta.

The thing with official site is that a message there was posted 2 weeks ago.

And when they updated the page to fill about news in that machmaking voting they forgot to delete that old news.

I have a feeling that Player1 might be right...

Yes, agree with player1.....the civ3 site does tend to be slow in updating news, and given the speed at which patches seem to have been updated lately, the civ3 site cannot be trusted as a reliable source!

Now how can that be? ....the civ3 site not trusted as a reliable source?

I'll have you know it's as quiet as funeral around here. And besides this, this is BUG central; we flag em, tag em and send em back for repainting. What more can be asked of us?

excuse me while I go test something.

You're right about that 1984 bug, LordEd...very strange indeed. I thought it may have just been an easter egg, but I see no connection with the map generated and the world of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty-Four. Any word on that, Firaxis?

Before I download this thing is there anywhere to find a readme first? None on Civ3 site.
See that pissy grammar? THAT'S the reason I lurk ;)

As one sage wizard to another trust me, Firaxis considers 'ReadMe' a relic of the past. This is a 'by guess by golly approach'! Like it? Some seem to, that's what strange...

                  You mean 1.22?

                  Go to www.firaxis.com

Click on downloads section and then to Conquests patch v1.22

                  Then you'll get a readme.

                    Military Leader Bug

The Military Leader can not rush units or regular improvements but CAN rush Great Wonders for the human player. It can rush all things for the AI.

                    One save example

Note in this save you can not build an Army because the civ has less than 4 cities. You are however unable to rush any units. This is a default rules, RMG game.

The all knowing playtester Cheiftess ( of CFC) checked out the AI/Human capabilities of the Military leader

                      • Hmm is this going to be used as the 1.22 bug thread since 1.20 was short lived?

As far as my testing goes, Military leaders can rush buildings, improvements and small wonders (not units) as civilopedia says.

It's only important to get them by elite units.

But if, you put leaders in scenario, then they could only rush greater wonders (like sci leaders).

I haven't tested could they build armies in this case.

                          • Correction:

Normal, elite unit generated leader can be used to build army, or rush improvements and small wonders.

But, leader put in scenario can build armies and rush small or great wonders (no units, nor improvements).

                            • If you download the save, you will notice the leader can not rush units. This save is from a default rule randomly generated map normal game.

Perhaps of interest is that I got the leader from an elite unit but had less than 4 cities. It may be the inability to produce an army is preventing rushing. As you have noted there is an edit feature bug and this may be related.

I have played other normal games and have had no problem w/ ML (I did not test if they could fiinsh a Great Wonder) So I am inclined to think the problem is with the >4 cities.

                              • In single-player 1.22 (and 1.20, for that matter,) the game is not recognizing any Conquests resources/luxuries as being acquired, even if my cities are built directly on top of them. The don't appear in a city's screen or the trade advisor's screen, and the people don't act as if they are receiving them. (I also don't get a pop-up saying "You've brought x resource into town. This will make the people happy.")

Pre-Conquests resources/luxuries still are being recognized.
