  • Sorry, I had trouble with both

    • Maybe Straybow can open JRabbit’s save -- re-save & then close for LaFayette?
Those with lower expectations face fewer disappointments

      • Well, that means LaFayette can accept a normal Mac save. I'll find it and send it to him tonight.

        • Before we could post saves here Succession Game files were despatched by email. I never remember having any trouble opening saves from Smash.

          • For La Fayette

Here's the original save, straight from the iMac.
My wife is standing over my shoulder waiting to go out for dinner, so this needs to be quick... (just added a .sav for Poly...)

            • La Fayette -- I could email directly to you if you'd like but your Poly profile doesn't permit that...

              • Sorry

My, how inconsiderate of me! I was rather sleepy at the time…

                    Your save works
                    I play today.

                    • So strange how these things work for one but not another... I run Win95, maybe that is the difference?

                      • The main difference is that I am not clever at all at creating, moving and reading files.
(...though I am rather clever at destroying, rubbing and losing )

                          • Anyway, I just played 15 turns:

                            First glance:
Build no more cities since we already have a red face.
Build settlers and grow cities to size 5 in order to start Xinning.

                            Main events:
300BC: Bozo builds temple (we IGNORE Straybow's rule)
125BC: Disc. Mathematics, 'choose' Warrior Code
                            100BC: Leiden builds settlers
20AD: Bozo size 5, starts Xinning

                              • one more silly discovery

Some people might find it strange that I chose 'Warrior Code' in accordance with STYOM's rule.
The plain truth is that I play the French version of the game and 'Code du guerrier' was #1 in alphabetical order
