Perhaps I might tackle some future cities when I get the current crop done...

I think a city master like Smiley would also be able to create some cool future mods!

    • A couple of weeks ago, I asked on the CTP Creation forum about how to convert CTP cities to Civ2. I was directed to a sprite tool, but I didn't download it until today. But I discovered that there are some great city graphics on CTP.

Here's a sampler of the types I ripped from CTP:

      • Wow, what does the population have to be to get to the giant thing in the lower right in CTP 1?

        • Dunno. I've never gotten that far in CTP. It combines fascinating potential with a fundamental lack of playability.

          • Huh.... those are pretty good city graphics. Pardon my humble ignorance but what exactly is CTP? I can't imagine there being an effective way to shrink the size of the graphics to fit in the cities.png graphic however, not without severely hurting the quality of the image.

            • CTP = Call To Power, a Civ-style game published by a different company. Notable among its differences were future era advances that added another 50% to the tech tree. Apparently it also has 96x72 city graphics.

              • It looks to me that a simple reduction to 66% works fine.

                • Yep - That is similar to the old jpeg file that I had on my HD.
I used bits of it to make the new cities for ToT -

Though, on my file I had to clean away the grainy
white background to use the building elements.

                        • Wow, 7 city sizes... I never realized there were that many. Aren't there 3 more in the modern era set also?

                          • Now there are no excuses not to create your own high-quality cities!

                            Nice one, Tech!

There were three extra sprites, but they were duplicates, so I didn't include them. I don't know why.
