The really good ones are secret for now!
To convert to MGE:
All you have to do is save a suitable MGE palette, and then load that palette onto this image.
Mighty fine work Curt! I can't wait for your Red Front redux work.
Could I also use those cities for possible use in Freeciv?
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.
It doesn't always convert with the closest colours in the palette in paint. When you convert in PSP you can choose to convert with the closest colours matching, making it look better than a paint conversion.
You may not always see this with the naked eye, but if you zoom in, you'll see that some pixels get weird colour choices, becasue it may ecceed the scale of that certain colour in the MGE format conversion.

I tried venturing into the realm of city graphics with the help of Curt's City scribble pad (thanks Curt! ), using some doodads from Sarsstock and Smiley. Apparently my skills at city drawing suck as much as my skills with units...
