    • For Typhoon's upcoming scenario, and any other use people may have in mind...

      Singapore

      1. Raffles Hotel
A famous colonial era hotel, it has recently been reopened in all its former glory.

      2. Old style retail and housing, Cathay Building
Some of the old style buildings with their distinctive orange tile roofs are still around; the Cathay Building, which housed a hotel and theater and was Singapore's first highrise (built 1939), is not.

      3. Public housing, OCBC (Overseas Chinese Banking Corporation), Merlion
The famous Merlion, mascot of the city, is an invention of the Singaporean tourist bureau. There's one at the river mouth that spouts water from its mouth into the harbor. These buildings are all from the 1970s.

      4. The Concourse, OUB (Overseas Union Bank), UOB (United Overseas Bank), Pickering Operations Complex
Late 80s and 90s construction brought buildings up to the maximum height limits of the carefully planned city.

Yes, those Singaporeans are real creative when it comes to naming financial companies...

              • and some more battleship wrecks, i consider them non-units
beacausethey are half sunken, smashed and ablase, so they would be abandoned, i figure they would be good for a pearl harbor scenario.

                • Hmmm, a burning battleship would create a lot more smoke. Like this:
Skeptics should forego any thought of convincing the unconvinced that we hold the torch of truth illuminating the darkness. A more modest, realistic, and achievable goal is to encourage the idea that one may be mistaken. Doubt is humbling and constructive; it leads to rational thought in weighing alternatives and fully reexamining options, and it opens unlimited vistas.

                        • Nice stuff. I always thought that with a little retouching, SimCity graphics would fit nicely into Civ2.

it all depends on how the graphics looked originally
