I've been a long-time lurker, but I thought I'd throw in my 2 cents worth, for what it's worth.

The Soviet tanks look nice, but personally, I prefer Nemo's T-34 - it has smoother lines.

I like Leonidas' half-tracks. Superb work. It looks like he's doing a complete compilation.

If I'm not mistaken I think the Germans built 22 varieties of the half-track.

Anyway, great work from all of you.

Yup, I plan to do a whole series of halftracks.

But I don't think the workers in the halftrack factory are any more tired than those workers labouring away in the German and Soviet tank factories.

A Type 95 tankette and a Type 97 medium tank would be rather nice - they were Japans main tanks throughout the war. They were similar to Italian tanks in both appearance and performance.

The Japanese had a hard time producing a tank better than your arse. Don't post any comparative pics, but those tanks were probably uglier, too.

http://gunpoint-3d.com/list-tanks_other.html is a slick site for two Japanese tanks. 3D rendering that you can rotate, etc. Perhaps you've seen it for other country's tanks.

They appear to be a little sloppy with the names. They call one of the tanks a Chi-Ri, but it looks like a Type 4 Chi-To (a '45 experimental design). The other is referred to as a Kha-Go, but its looks like a Type 95 Ha-Go to me. http://mailer.fsu.edu/~akirk/tanks/ has better info but only bw pics.

I remembered this amphib from PacGen.


I'll bet Case has over a dozen links to Japanese tanks.

Those amphibious tanks were really freaky. Here's a picture of one on land:

And here's one emergering from the water. Both shots were taken in Rabaul in 1945 where the Australian 11th division captured a heap of them at the end of the war and they were put through their paces in Rabaul harbour by Australian tankers (some more shots of them puttering around available if you enter 'rabaul tanks' or 'Type 2 Ka-Mi Ampbibious tank' into the search function at the AWM's site)

Interestingly enough, the American M-24 DD tanks which were developed for the invasion of Japan worked in pretty much the same way.

Unfortunately they never produced more than a hundred or so.

I'll have a go at both the Type 95 light tank and Type 97 Medium, but I'm away from home now so it won't be until next week.

One question: My latest Russian and German tanks are a bit over the top on contrast; I was kind of experimenting and I think they look OK in civ so long as you remember to normalise the view with cntrl-z. Would this style be OK, or would you prefer a nore subtle contrast, as with most other 'Nemo-type' iso graphics?

A cursory google image search has thrown up more confusion: both the type 97 and type 94 tankette are referred to as 'Te-Ke' on different sites....

Welcome to the Scenario League High-Flyer, and thanks for the feedback. Can you be more specific about the smoother lines of Nemo's T-34, as I'm always keen to improve my graphics. Do you mean Nemo's has lower contrast or do you mean the shape of mine was wrong?

As I said a post or 2 ago, I've started going for a 'high-contrast' look which looks fine when viewed with cntrl-z in civ but can look pretty grainy otherwise. Actually, I'd appreciate general feedback from other people on this as well.

Hmmmm, say Fairline, ever think about making a bunch of E-series German tanks and perhaps a Tiger II and Panther? Cuz, those would look really nice in someones scenario.....
