Italian Paper:

HORDES OF DIPLOMATS LEAVING ROME IN A MASSIVE DIPLOMATIC EFFORT!


Diplomats are reported to leave for Moscow and Istanbul at an incredible rate, Italian emperor Henriko Lohmandero proclaimed in a speach earlier today that: Hopefully the wise Tzar and Sultan realizes that we cannot allow the world to be ruled by the Imperialist Brittish and thier German puppet king! An invitiation to join the Pact of Marseilles also known as the Franco-Italian Alliance has been presented to them both, this will hopefully help to maintain world peace and contain brittish domination!

Whit those grand words our beloved emperor Henriko I left the cheering crowd outside his palace in Rome.

Diplomacy is conducted via emails (which allows for more accurate pacts and non agression treaties, etc) and on these boards.

Then the effects are conducted in the game, no diplomatic action may be taken in the game unless the players have agreed to in the forums (except for perhaps a declarion of war).


Multievents will be used and the latest version will be used.


For difficulty level I nominate Prince as it wont give the AI (human players not playing thier turn) any unfair advantages (atleast I think thats why Prince is prefered in pbems...)

Well, Prince (Major) in this game is good for the russians. (happiness problem solved!)
-might be too good. It might be worth considering. -That'll make for more war, and more fun. Personally I hate it when all production comes to a halt because those rebellious workers take time to revolutionary meetings etc. And that's the Tsar speaking there...

But it is also said in the corridors, that General Mussiadskij is sent on a secret mission to the british isles, in order to obtain further loans to maintain industrial development. It is the Tsars personal hope that new loans obtained with the british banks will be able to pay the creditors for some further 3 months, and he is asking for an amount no less than 1000 pounds in exchange for good faith. -The loan is supposedly to be paid back with sharing the secret of a land reform act planned sometime in the future.

HEADLINE: Germany Sends Feelers to Newcomers

Ioanes Schroeder, the protector of the German and Austrian Nations has sent but one diplomat to Russia and one to the Ottoman. But far from being a disrespectful gesture, these emissaries are there to find the political climate in those nations, and not to talk the ears off of foreign ears.

Earlier today, Germany, as a charter nation of the Democratic Alliance, extended the hand of freindship to those nations that would embrase such freedoms for her people. The signing of such Treaty shall benifit all nations that would join. But the goal for democracy is a requirement. All who are forced under despotic and fuedalistic societies shall be liberated in due course. This editor sees that the Italian despot shall regret his backstabbing.

THE TIMES NEWSPAPER JULY 7th 1900

The Prime Minister Gary Smith today proclaimed that England and Germany were bound in a "Pact of Steel". "Any aggression towards one of these powers will result in a declaration of war by the other power." These were Mr Smiths words and it is a clear warning that any aggressive action against the German Empire will result in the freezing of assets and aid from the British empire as well as the complete obliteration of the russian fleet by the German Imperial Navy and the Royal Navy.
Diplomats were also observed leaving London on trips to places unknown. It is assumed by this editor that they are going to Istanbul and Moscow to try to promote the Alliance For Democracy. It should be noted that Germany and Britain are part of this alliance and that any further entrants, what with spain being neutral, will be welcomed with open arms. He invites russia to join the alliance and he said that this would solve the "imperial hunger" that the Tsar implied by allying the 3 greatest nations on this continent. Together these three nations could manipulate european affairs forever. He also invites turkey to join this alliance or at least to proclaim neutrality to the Alliance battles that are soon to break out.


Game note if anyone joins the alliance i will gift them the democracy tech and also germany and britain will share all techs with all the other members as per the accords on the treaty.

MAN! That was fast!

Please everyone be aware before starting to implement the multiplayer events file. Instructions on how to do this are in the WarRead file. For the most part, the multi-player events file simply deletes the vast majority of events, but there are a few little scattered events left. Taking neutral cities will not plunge anyone into war with anyone else.

I am really looking forward to seeing this one play out.

Negotiations.

For negotiations you have to do them either here or by email as henrik has said. Ie if you want to ally with someone you set your attitude to enthusiastic and then your friend does the same and then he seals the alliance and then the next turn you do some trading etc the nature of pbems mean you cant do it in one turn like on a multiplayer game but we will work round it. Also dont ask me for democracy if your not going to join the democratic alliance. also no taking advantage of the attitudes. ie if i was enthusiastic to russia and then russia asked me for a tech i would give it to them (or the AI would) wether i liked it or not. if you do this expect to get kicked off. so no plundering the german, brittish, and french for techs without prior notice

Ok -I've sent you the savegame, Henrik, without ending my turn. So I figure when you start your game you'll naturally pick the Italians as your playing tribe, and thus the AI won't take any turns. I still don't get why selecting "end player turn" is disabled for me, or how selecting this from the orders menu should be any different than clicking "end turn". But well, here it is.

This seems to be part of a large-scale rearrangement to prepare the russian agrarial-based economy for democracy and further industrialization. Loads of quality russian machinery is now in production for the industrial markets in London and Central Europe. Upon the warm reception of the Russian court, Ioanes Schroeder, protector of the German nation, hartily accepts Russia into the Democratic Alliance should her intentions be honorable. Being as trade and continental peace of Democratic nations has been spoken of in Russian courts, once the Alliance is formaly signed, Germany and England would be gald to assist our Russain brothers to greater heights. Ioanes himself plans to visit the Russian Tsar to discuss ways to industrialize and democratise Rusia without making the nobles in the land rebelious.

Ioanes is quoted to have saying, 'The Alliance Democratic should be able to contain and suppress the unsettling coups and riotous insurectionists in Italy and France.

MASSIVE INDUSTRIAL REFORMS BY OUR NEW LEADERSHIP

New orders has been recived by the foremens of practicaly all factories in Italy, apparently the industry is going to gear up significantly. Acording to an anonymous source employed in the textile industries of Genoa Industry and development is receiving a whole new priority.
The statement by our beloved and cherised emperor Henriko I was obviously not just talk.
"This nation will not be the new sick man of Europe"
Rumours state that the national treasury has been all but emptied in new investments, but these rumours are firmly denied by the Imperial ministery of Propaganda.

DIPLOMATIC ACTIVITY WHIT FRANCE INCREASED
The amount of diplomats on missions to France has increased signifacantly during the last months and the relations between Italy and France are indeed getting friendlier, it is rumoured that a pact has been signed in Marseilles.
Again this is firmly denied by the Imperial ministery of Propaganda an offical employed there has stated that:
"I cannot confirm nor deny any of your information, yet you can rest asured that we will come to our French brothers help when they are in need.
I am sure they would do the same for us!"

NEW RAILWAY LINE CONECTING FRANCE AND ITALY UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Orders concerning the construction of a new railway line crossing the French-Italian border has been initialized by the Imperial Engineer brigades, the railway in both nations has also been adjusted so that trains from both nations will be able to travel un-hindered to destinations on the other side of the border.
The new measurements on rails has been developed by French and Italian engineers in close cooperation and now both nations are adjusting to the new standard.



RUSSIA JOINS THE IMPERIALIST BLOCK (ALSO KNOWN AS THE " 'DEMOCRATIC' LEAGUE")
