THE TIMES NEWSPAPER 7th July 1900

Today Mr Smiths controversial Labour Bill passed through the house of commons. This is not a surprise because of the majority that the Liberal Government has in the house. They can push through anything that Mr Smith proposes. What remains to be seen is wether this bill will pass through the house of lords. I am hoping that this bill, which will cause 200,000 people to be unjustly picked from the population and then put to back breaking labour indefinately, will be rejected by the lords and will thus have to go through another motion which will slow it down. However with the popularity of Mr Smith with the nation on a whole i do not doubt that this bill will eventually pass and this pains me.

The reports of the Navy setting sail also concern me greatly. What use of picking this time to sortie from their respective ports when the tension in europe cannot get any worse because it will seem like they are going for training. In a leaked report it seems that they are going to practice joint exercises with the German High Seas Fleet incase hostilities flare up somewhere. This can only be seen as a provocation to the Medeterainian Alliance forces and who knows which way they will turn.

Reports coming from the Netherlands speak of a rapid assault by German troops followed by the quick seizing of Amsterdam. Truly this is the German War machine in action. And what of our own prime minister who vowed to protect hollands neutrality to his dying breath. Now it seems that the alliance with germany has changed his perspective on this and he is allowing this to happen. What has become of this country that says it is free i ask you!!!

However reports coming from the German embassy in london say that their troops were just doing some exercises near the netherlands border when they were unjustly attacked by the netherlands forces. This is being reported in all the papers and this opinion only and this sickens me. Why would the netherlands turn on a force that is infinately more trained than it. Its a path for madness.

The siezure of Danish lands also bears a striking resemblance to the events in holland. The same excuse was used and maybe it is true. You never know but this editor doubts it. Until the next issue of the times ithank you for buying this paper and for reading my opinions.

It would cause much sadness to the people of Spain if a country they have always respected should allow its wonderful reputation to be tarnished by the activities of one of its allies. Dardanelles Strait
The Strait has been closed to traffic from countries other than Italy and France. When SunTzu was asked about the closure he responded with this,The people and the government feel that other countries should not be able to use the Strait of Dardanelles which is under our control without paying a price per ship. Early this morning the leader of France after his tree days of recreation in Denmark, appealed from his resident in Versailles all civilized nations of Europe to work for peace and prosperity. All of France looks with great anxiety on the rise of nationalism and militarism caused by human follish and pride. The soveriegn Nations of Germany Austria and Bulgaria have declared last August a state of interdependence, and have formally declared Ioanes Schroeder as Protectorate. This Nationality Merger was coined the Central European Union (CEU) during a diner conversation between leading heads of state, most of which are to be Senators in the new Democratic Republic. "What I like most about it," mused Henrik Schnider, "Is that it has the same name as my favorite desert."

The Labour Brigade bill today passed through the house of lords by a majority of 123 to 27. This means that the 200,000 volunteers will be formed throughout the empire later next month. Mr Smith remarked that this was a great day for Democracy. Why we dont know but thats what he said

CIVIL UNREST IN TUNISIA

The government of Tunisia called for British Intervention in the civil unrests which were spoiling their great country. The British empire will stand by all governements who we see as friendly towards us and our allies. Thus saying a short but fierce bombardment by the battleship HMS Hampshire was followed by a controled landing of british troops. We are pleased to report that the capital of Tunisia, Tangier, is safely in the hands of British Troops. What a grand day this is for democracy.

Today 60 of britains eminent scientists departed York today with the destination of Russia. This is to adhere to one of the conditions of the alliance of democracy which is to share technology to modernize all our nations. Also aboard was 1000 pieces of gold which the british government promised the government of Russia which is to be repaid when the fiscal crisis in russia is over. Also aboard was some administrators which will show the russians the benefits of democracy.
