In my early youth I used to play quite a lot of ToT in Hotseat. We played so much that we needed to buy a second original because the first got too much scratches.

I don't have them, actually. The only thing I have is the smooth map grid image itself. The rest doesn't really matter too much (not for the vanilla games I'm playing anyway).

If you want to use the smooth grid for creating new graphics you can use the images in my "tile metrics" guide as templates:

See my earlier post... ToT maps are exactly the same as any other version's maps, so any map editor you already have will do. The lack of a map editor for ToT is really only an issue for those who have only ToT and no other Civ2 version.

I can only assume the game must not like what version of Windows you are running.

There are few other explanations.

I for one, have nver had any trouble running ToT in Win-ME, or Win-XP.

As in Ciaran's case, TOT has run properly for me on both ME and XP.
