  • Frederick's Progress

My latest project Frederick the Great is slowly taking shape. The map is done, including cities.

I'm working on a tech tree, although the scenario covers such a short period of time that it really won't be used much. It's more for color, really.

I've got most of the units I'll need from Fairline, and they are as beautiful as you might expect. Now plopping them into a units file, and working on the units section of the Rules.

Civs are Prussia, Britain (Hanover), Austria, France, Russia, Sweden, Holy Roman Empire (minor German states), and Poland. Russia starts off-map with no cities, and Poland is represented by the barbarians, allied to all civs.

Here are a couple of screenies of the map. #1 - the Rhine theatre:

Wow. The map looks excellent. I really like the rolling effect the farmland has on the map and the autumn looking forrests. The Vauban style city defences look good too.

This is a period I have only read about briefly so a new scenario would be a good excuse to buy a book and do a bit of research!

            Good job

I suspect more than a few of us will look for any excuse to buy a book on history.

Can't wait to see the fun, Tech!

                really nice idea!
the heart of XVIII century hasn't been considered too much in civ scenarios... especially Europe... And Friedrich II... such a commander !!! keep on Tech, have a good job!

Nothing like a good olde worlde land-grab and power-mongering!

I have been playing 'Seize the Crown' recently, I love the low tech mayhem.

This new epic has the same feel of conquest and chivalry.

Those units look as juicy as the map GFX!

But the real proof is in the gameplay and events, and
we know that Tech will not let us down on that front!
