On the map. Definitely you have to extend it a little more south, to the Prjpet at least. Lituania was able to swallow up a lot of the southern Russian principalities - of course, before the Vorskla battle disaster - and this way gained strenght to fight against Teutonics. So perhaps you should set some Russian principalities as barbarians. Give less towns to the Mongols, this way it will not be easy for them to expand because they were more powerful than anyone else in this scenario.
And oh, you should set for them an event simulating the payment of Russian tributes. The last tax collection made directly by them is dated 1275. After that year, as a matter of fact, Russian principalities organized by themselves payments - but the result was the same, huge values left Russian pockets for the Mongol ones.

thank you, grazie, the amazing images u scanned (it work again ?) are amazingly beautiful and source of inspiration and strenght..
On map/russian ? u read my mind.. that is actually what i intend to do...
but i dont wanna put many town on the map, on the contrary there will be only few (as stated before +/-) plus some barbarians here and there..
to give the scenario also a flavour of "colonization", as it was also in real that time that place..
the script will be more for teutonic , but if it ll come out something playable also for others civ.. better..
to extend the map south.. well.. i dunno if is worth to add 2-3 sqaure, risking to loose all, i think i know how to do with some mapedit and photoshop, make it a bitmap, add "space", then, make it a .mp again ?
but.. if the "game is wort the candle".. as we say in italy..
maybe i can post the map and u ll jugde..as is now..
imo, you are right, and i know it too.. but .. this way is more certain the "game" will set-up more in baltic era .. as wished..
very nice the map of prussian tribes.. what needed to start plot their town/tribes..
so.. some will be PRUSSIAN , other BARBARIAN.. wich shell be wich ?

TERRAIN are at moment :
PLAINS
GRASSLAND
LIGHT WOOD (using mountains)
FOREST
HILLS
LAKES (is full of lakes there! )
STEPPE
TUNDRA
BLACK-LAND (an upgrade of terrains to give more "food")
SWAMP
but i still have not fixed the value in food/shield ect.
and more important, the transformation possible w settlers ..
as i think that must be a part of the game.. to cut trees to build some new lands/space..
RUSSIAN MONGOL payment ? yep.. will be done..

and it will be the land-carrier-parachute werd100 imagined , that will be used as stronghold in that woody region of baltic..

btw.. tried to use a WAV file for some music but dont work.. is it the problem that this one is 16 bit.. while CIV wish it to be 8 ?
someone know where to download a FREE tool to make the transform ?

Consider this as a starting point to work at for russian and baltic towns.
Southern Russian principalities discarded it in late XII century, because they were no match for Qipciaq mangonels, but Northern Russians and Baltic tribes often fortified their towns using this kind of wooden fortification - at least under a certain size. You know wooden ones are cheaper then stone ones, if stone is rare and there is plenty of wood to use...
The "ostrog".
I have found a couple of city sets that can fit this one. I'll post them here next time.
