    Believe it or not, but I'm making good progress on both!

    I am making good use of some of the advantages ToT has over MPGE:
    - events file size
    - the givetech / taketech event-actions to use trigger techs
    - impassable terrain (instead of "impassable" unit in MPGE! )

      I look forward to seeing this one Cyrion!

      I have not had time to look at all the extra events available in ToT but 'take technology' sounds very useful.

      I have found impassable terrain is invaluable and will come in extremely handy in future.

      Glad to hear you are making good progress, keep it up

        Quick update

        - transfer the events files from the 4 different MPG ones to the ToT single one! done
        - modify the events + the tech tree to make full use of the ToT possibilities! done
        - test the whole thing : in progress

        The scenario comprises 5 "episodes"; the 4 first ones are fully written, partially tested and just need some fine tuning (events!), and I'll soon start on the 5th one which is the easiest "technically" speaking.

        Actually, I'm learning to use the new events properties ToT offers, and they'll undoubtly prove really useful for future projects

        For instance the "modifyreputation" action allows me to provide enmies that at last attack me instead of wandering around my units!

            Quick update

            1. Playability / balance

            All the events (the scen is VERY heavily event driven) have been tested separately and work fine on their own!

            I'll now start a whole game to check the timing of some of the event and the balance of the scenario!

            This will allow me to test:
            - how the events work together (they work fine individually)
            - how the AI behaves (behaves well individually)
            - fine tune the units stats

            I plan to start on that this week-end and it might take me about 2 weeks to finalize that part (yes, RL is quite busy... )




            2. Playtest

            Once I have fully tested the playability, it will then be time for a playtest: I hope 2-3 of you will volonteer for that!

            Warning: this playtest will take place with placeholder units and graphics which will be in context (and not too ugly ) but not the final ones


            3. Graphics

            I'll use the playtest time to make some requests on our talented designers for units and maybe terrain, so that when the feedback from the testers comes I'll be ready to make the last modifications!


            4. Text files

            During playtest I will write the readme + more atmosphere text in the events

              Roll on #5!

              Looking forward to seeing this one Cyrion. Those loose ends are always more time consuming than one imagines, especially when RL keeps butting in!

              I would volunteer as a play tester but I am useless at that side of things and you would probably get better feedback from some of the more experienced Civers.

                    Technical Questions

                    Just 2 small questions (I know I could find the answers by myself, but I don't want to lose too much time... ):

                    1. Which file do I have to modify to change the format of the time (I want to replace the years/month by a number of weeks)?

                    2. What is the maximum parameter I am allowed to use in the rules file to slow the research to a quasi stop?

                            I'm now fine-tuning things like the number of the turn when things are supposed to happen, and modifying a few unit spawning points, but that's nearly finished!

                            Amazingly, the AI seems to behave exactly like I wanted!

                            But to be honest, the only thing I want from it is: attack, attack, attack!

                            And for that, using the reputation modifier event seems to do the trick!

                            Currently under work! As for now, I get slaughtered by the AI, I might have to add something to the player units stats!

                            And, surprise surprise, what I intend to add in my next test is neither off nor def, but rather just 1 move to some of the units!

                            I plan to start on that this week-end and it might take me about 2 weeks to finalize that part (yes, RL is quite busy... )
                            Now no surprise there for those who know me a little: I'm late...

                            But not by much! So if all goes well I might be able to send something next week or the week after!

                            RL has been nice, but busy...

                            Actually, most of the atmosphere text in the events
                            have already been written!

                            They'll need some correcting by a native english speaker, though (Duke of York, do you still lurk around here sometimes? )
