I got no takers on playtesting Frederick the Great until I posted my title page and some screenies. These people are very visual.

I'll playtest, I guess. I have the time to kill and would like to see some good new scenarios.

But post screenshots. You know you want to.

I guess you're all right, and that in a time of some frenetic scenario development, some advertisement is necessary...

My only problem is that the graphics are not finished yet, and so the game isn't looking as good yet as it will soon!

Nonetheless, I'll post 1-2 screenshots tonight, thanks for the advice, oh my superficial friends...

And in the meanwhile, the link to the playtest files (for those willing to follow Elensar steps):

            Explanations for playtesters

And here is a file that might be of use for the playtesters: it gives some short explanations about how to play, as well as the historical background!

            The screenshots will come soon...

Okay, I'm a hopeless loser with ToT, so I may have messed something up in terms of where I unzipped it.

Open scenario (file path: C:\Program Files\Microprose\Test of Time\LL_playtest1). See first event. See pretty graphics. Click okay. BAm. Unit graphics return to something from normal ToT's settings.

Help, Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope.

Will try playtesting it anyway, as the graphics aren't going to determine what bugs it has.

Try to make a a intermediate "scenario" folder in your Test of Time folder, like this:

                  C:\Program Files\Microprose\Test of Time\scenario\LL_playtest1).

                  This works fine for me!

                  Thanks!

But it should be less painful with the (provisory) graphics!

And here is the opening view to prove it:

No worries, Gareth! Going on vacation? If yes, enjoy!

Anyway, the current graphics are bearable enough for the superficial bunch lurking around here...

The nasty germans are closing in on the gauls scouting ahead of the convoy...

No luck. It shows the intended graphics, but not after I hit the okay for the event.

                      : ( Such good graphics.

                      On to the test.

I will give this a try as soon as I can. I don't remember getting the link you mentioned! I have been away for the past week, otherwise I would have replied much sooner. Look forward to giving this game a whirl

I wish I had a dollar for every time this issue came up. I wrote a guide on how to handle sprites in ToT. It can be found here. If you intend to hide the health bars for some units, then your scenario will by a case 2 type (see the examples at the end of the article). For which units do you wish to hide the health bar? If you need help I'll fix the scenario for you.

BTW, if designers didn't set about deleting/moving/renaming sprite files in their own Original directories, they'd notice these problems immediately.

                                Thanks for the answer, Catfish!

The only units for which I wish to hide the health bar are the rapids and the trees!

But, as the graphics are not the final ones yet, maybe it would be better to wait for the release version? (I'm not sure what it involves to modify it, but I'll check your link, thanks!)

As far as I'm aware of it, I haven't deleted/moved/renamed anything (and especially any sprite files) in my own Original directories...
