Nope, it's just a scenario, so all scenario files should only be extracted to a separate folder inside the /scenario folder in your civ 2 directory.

I actually experienced the same problem that Platypus Rex is having a couple of years ago with some other scenarios.

My advice is to back up your civ2 files and download as a copy of MGE into your civ2 directory. Then run the game and load the scenario. You should then experienced no problems.

Do you have a dot in your scenario name? Like Belle Epoque 4.2? I did that to imperialism long time ago and it messed up civ2 to the point of reinstallment, despite taking the dot off.

I've been playing civ2 for years. I refuse to play civ 3 and 4 (and my computer isn't be able to...). I only played multiplayer a few times, one time in a intranet, and the other times I played hotseat with my brother (he is only a little better than the AI...). I played the civ 2 game of the moth of the www.civfanatics.com some times.
