December, 1964. The mighty red army is preparing to move toward the south, in order to free the 3rd world countries of the capitalist slavery. People form Congo and Vietnam, due to their enormous courage and toughness, shall receive the freedom immediately.

Guys, this is my first PBEM turn. I tried to strictly follow the rules, but even so, there is a possibility that I’ve done something wrong or “unusual”. Please, if you see something wrong, warn me. I’m also afraid that my strategy is weak, if compared to yours. I also have had problems with the java engine, so I coudnt run CivDip.

*American reinforcements arrive to support Mobutu´s 100% legal regime.


VIETNAM WAR
*In order to bring peace and end the war as soon as possible, the american forces took control of Cambodia, destroying all the hidden vietcong bases placed in that country.

*Phnom Pehn captured
*2 neutral inf killed
*3 vietcong pro-east guerrillas + 1 infantry killed
*1 marine + 1 helicopter + 1 frigate lost

A few questions before I play:

Is there an ongoing guerilla conflict in Angola (ie can I attack the rebel units there)?

Is there an intifada against Israel going on already (ie can I attack the terrorist units nearby)?

And what about South Africa? Am I involved in a guerilla war there?

Oh and rodrigo, you have violated the neutrality of Sweden (by occupying an airbase there) and infiltrated NATO territory with a spy.

I expect you to withdraw both the plane and the spy next turn.

answering your questions...

1) Yep. there are some guerrilla independence movements in angola. You can negotiate your retreat of that country, or just keep on fighting to mantain the portuguese colony.

2) Nop. You are at peace with Syria (those terrorists have damascus as their home base).
If you wanna kill them, that will trigger a war in the area.
It´s up to you.

3) South africa? that´s a neutral country. I assume you are talking about Mozambique (Maputo). Anyway, the answer is YES. You are also fighting guerrilla independence movements like in point 1)

Guys I'm sorry but I think I'll have to drop out of this PBEM due to the fact that I'll have no time to play until the 10th or 11th of February.

I don't want to needlessly hold the game up at the crucial beginning stage.

Oh I actually do want to play this game, it's just that I thought you'd object to me leaving for 2 weeks.
