I would be fine with your fist idea, which was also going through my mind, three units in one, staying slightly behind each other - does that mean a lot of further compression?

Gareth & Werd100 :Originally posted by Werd100
Here's my attempt at converting the main TYW units to MGE size. Before I go on, many apologies to Gareth for butchering his work!
The musketeers look Ok, the pike aren't too bad, Some of the cavalry are acceptable. Some of the larger cavalry look a bit ropey but they should do as markers until you can find something better!
"Dilexi iustitiam, odivi iniquitatem, propterea morior in exilio" [PAPA GREGORIUS VII +1085] - ("He amado la justicia, he odiado la iniquidad, por eso muero en exilio") - ("I loved justice, I hated unfairness, that's why I die in exile") - (J'ai aimé la justice, j'ai détesté l'iniquité, c'est pourquoi je meurs en exil") - ("Ich liebte Gerechtigkeit und hasste Ungerechtigkeit, deshalb sterbe ich im Exil")

@Battosai
I don't think they need to be compressed any more. They just need to be arranged with two behind (pike) and one in front (musket).
I just don't know how to put the one in front without wiping off chunks of the ones behind. Hopefully someone knows how to do this with a more advanced graphics editor than MS paint!

I am in proud possession of PaintShop, an older version, though.
However, I might get it arranged.
Your proposal leads me to the suggestion one could let the unit in teh front in 100% size of your conversion and shrink the others behind it in steps of 30% or so. How would that look ?

Have a go and see how they turn out!
I have been trawling through the Pre-Steam graphics showcase and found a load of units that you could use. I will compile them and post them when I get a minute.
Strange as I remember going through that thread about six months ago. Must have lost them when my old PC crashed.

Batto old chap
Any progress recently? I had not realised this was destined for PBEM. I would very much like to play as Wallenstein, Tilly or Adolphus!
I worked out how to make the Tercio's. Its really very easy, can't believe I never worked it out before.
If you have a more up to date version then please feel free to send it on for another bit of feedback. Knowing it is intended for PBEM changes things quite a bit! Next time I will read the thread more thoroughly!

I cannot remember saying that
but I would still like to be Sweden
I'm too young to be losing my memory
If you need any help testing or getting feedback then feel free to send me the files! I will post up some Tercio graphics...if I remember

That's correct!
Musketeer at the edge and Pikeboys in the centre, mixed textile colours also fit to the era. I really enjoy this one.
You should have a rulesfile of this here but it could be a bit outdated, as I've sent it you in May. I send you the latest asap (my folder is very unorganized, so it takes a while till I find the important things and bound them together
).

If you send me all the files I can see how things are progressing and give some feedback if you want! I don't think I had registered the fact that this was a PBEM game when I looked at it first time!

I have sent an e-mail asking for the units file but I was wondering what exactly this unit was:
Disc. Tercios
I guess these are Mercenaries: Merc. Tercios
Also, do you need graphics for the lines or are they just represented by one man?
