I guess this is around 15:00 by GMT time, am I right?

ok, again the times for all players

    Straybow...01:00 - 06:00
    Peaster......ANY time
    Bostero.......17:00 - 03:00
    Eurisko...... around 15:00
    ISeeALL.... 20:00 - 23:00

If times are right this shows the order in which it would be best to make turns.

Lets see again. Straybow wanted Minoans.
Next are Hittites, and Peaster is on the list.
Peaster may also want to take Babylon.
Then may be Eurisko - he can play Assyrians
Then ISeeALL (me) can play for Egypt
Then Bostero may take Persia and Greeks.

    Here is what I suggest:

    Nation........Player.............................. ..........Approx.GMT time

    Hittites.......Peaster............................ .........06:00 - 15:00
    Babylon......Peaster.............................. .......06:00 - 15:00
    Assyria.......Eurisko............................. .......around 15:00
    Egypt.........ISeeALL............................. ........20:00 - 23:00
    Persia.........Bostero............................ ........23:00 - 03:00
    Greeks........Bostero............................. .......23:00 - 03:00
    Minoans......Straybow............................. .....01:00 - 06:00

If everyone agrees, please tell, and let's get the game started!

I think it started when I mis-interpreted his stance on the van cap rule, but somehow it all got out of hand. Probably we were both a little frustrated when Heresson left, etc. We've emailed a little since, with less hostility but no kissy-kissy.

ISeeAll: I am OK with Hittites+Babylon. I will play them as non-allied, and probably even avoid deals. RobRoy (or Platypus, etc) can have one of them if they come back.

I was fairly serious about being able to play 24/7, though there will be times (mostly Mon Wed, I think) when I may need the whole 24hrs.

Hm, I would prefer if we could try to find separate players before we start.

I'd love to also, but I am afraid if wait some more time, we will have even fewer than 5 players.

Bostero, is the nation choice ok with you?

For the early game, before we even make contact, it won't matter much that players have doubled up.

@iseeall: yes it's fine with me
i'll keep playing both Persia and Greece if it is required.
but my original civ is Greece. so i will drop Persia when we find a player for it.

Peaster, then it's your first turn. Please create the game and post the first save.

                  Starting Game#2

Start up: Hotseat scenario, AE-3500W, Deity level
Options checked = "Kill on retirement" and "All can chat".
                  Unlimited time.

Since I don't understand how Wrath works, I playtested the starting position to 3230BC (with about 150 Ctrl-Ns). I did not see any mega-hordes as in the Game#2 group play test. I did see a few micro-hordes; about 5 swordsmen + envoys. The difference may be the high tech levels we achieved in the group playtest - if not, I have no clue whether we'll see mega-hordes in this game. I guess we could start from RobRoy's previous Game#2 save, or experiment a bit more, if people prefer that. If not....

A lonely herdsman learns to poke dots into wet clay, making strange patterns, which he claims will tell our story to our children and their children. Our tribal leaders declare him a shaman and a hero of all the lands and all times. Henceforth he is known as "Hero-Dot-Us".

                  Hittites: no huts, combat, etc

                  Babylon: hut = swordsman.

Eurisko, you are up. I guess you've read the rules, etc at the top of this thread, and know how to play hotseat mode.

3950 BC, the Assyrian settlement of Nineveh.

The council of elders under the wise Sargon has decided that Assyria must grow in territorial size to provide for it's ever-growing population and has hence demanded that new cities be founded and smaller tribes littering the countryside and being nothing but a nuissance be subjugated.

A group of brave men-at-arms has been sent forth to seek out smaller tribes and "persuade" them to join our glorious cause. During their journey through a light forest they encountered a man who was selling what appeared to be arrowtips made from a very high-quality alloy. A quick burial later, the arrowstips were in Assyrian possession and were immediately sent back to Nineveh, where another group of men-at-arms will enter service after completing their basic archery training.

Long story short: Popped a hut, got 50 gold. Nothing else.

Minoans have cast ashore on two islands. It was just a three hour tour...

Hittites: Skirmisher spots a hut, and discovers an advanced tribe. They wisely pledge allegiance to Mursilus.

                            Babylon: Exploring.

Odd things indeed do occur in the kingdom of Assyria.

A group of skirmishers approached a hut which had several horses in a stable nearby. After convincing the group of mercenaries inside the hut to join our cause (they will receive their pay in the form of rape and plunder), the mercenaries were sent off to scout the area for more simian miscreants.

In the first recorded case of a deja vu, they happened to come by yet another group of mercenaries who possessed horses, recruiting them for the Assyrian cause as well.

Because they themselves were too tired to go on, they handed over their scouting mission to the second squad of horsemen, since nobody could tell the difference from far away anyway.

The second squad of horsemen came across a larger village. After a bit of ride-by archery to show the townsfolk who is boss, the village of Khorsabad decided to join the ever-growing Assyrian empire.

It has yet to be seen whether or not the village is an asset or a liability.

In the west, our veteran skirmisher platoon annihilated a village unwise enough to offer resistance. In the east another village was spotted. However, we will have to avoid it for the time being since it's defense systems cleverly incorporate the nearby river to form a fortress of such fortitude that no assault would be successful.

                              In short:

Popped a hut, horsemen. Horsemen popped another hut, again horsemen. Horsemen popped a hut, city of Khorsabad. However, the city's location is sub-optimal, to say the least.

Killed warriors to the west. Let them be in the east.

Yep. This kind of thing happened to the Hittites in the playtest, and we decided it could quickly unbalance the game. So, we made a rule (see #12) against popping more than one hut per turn. A stationary barb warrior (usually on a village tile) counts, too.

Would you mind replaying your turn, with just one hut-pop ?
