    1) Heresson posted in another thread that he has to drop out.

    2) RobRoy has thrown a fit about the rules.

    3) ISeeAll is trying to find new player assignments to match time zones.

All things considered, I think we have to stop play until we can sort these problems out. It probably makes sense to start over so that Babylon is not a turn behind. And if players get new civs, they can play them from turn one.

      mmm...Not quite.

RobRoy has objected to Peaster's unilateral imposition of a new rule, (after game start, I might add), and to his changing rationale for the rule's presence. Amazingly, Peaster purports to oppose this rule, but unfortunately, it is now written in stone!

Perhaps, something else is going on? I have no idea what it might be, but something stinks here. This has gotten way too personal, way too quickly. If someone prefers me to sit this one out, there are more professional ways to do it than this B.S.

RR: Yes, maybe you should sit it out, if you intend to continue with this kind of behavior. For the game to be any fun, we need players who:

        * can refrain from personal attacks on other players
        * can accept rules they didn't choose themselves
        * can generally play within 24hrs
        * can commit to playing for at least a few months

The last 2 are not directed at RR. While the game is stalled, we can return to rules talks IMO, but I'll switch back to the play test thread for that.

Sorry, but my behavior has been consistent and won't change. When I see inappropriate behavior, I tend to challenge it. If I'm subjected to ad hominem attacks, I tend to respond. Most people are like that. Get used to it.

So I guess you'll be sitting out, then?

That's funny, I recall playing with a HUGE slew of rules I didn't choose and didn't like.

No, what you've really saying is that people should be willing to play with a rule that nobody seems to have chosen (including you, if we're to believe what you've written), but which you unilaterally impose after game start.

You continue to misrepresent me and this situation, instead of owning up to YOUR actions and inactions. Why is still a mystery.

This is a simple statement of fact. I suggest you re-examine your posts and my posts (if you ever bothered to read any of mine in the first place) and you'll see when and where "personal attacks" occured. I'll probably have to keep wondering about the why?

BTW, next time you want to get rid of someone, try a more direct approach. It's really far less irritating. Private can also works wonders.

Most of the RR rant is in the play test thread, so I have responded there. I confessed long ago that I failed to understand one of RR's posts (apparently because RR was confused about voting procedures). But most of his accusations are just nonsense.

              Rant. Confused. Accusations. Nonsense.
Good thing you can refrain from personal attacks.
When do you plan to start?

Accusations? I wasn't aware I made any. I simply pointed out your actions and inactions. I haven't really bothered trying to decipher the motives.

Tsk, tsk. And here I was thinking you wanted to keep this thread relatively tidy...

And when exactly in the evening, so that I could convert the time.

What is our status? For some reason I wasn't getting updates on this thread. (Fixed)

I am in US Eastern (currently still Daylight Saving Time), and that is 8pm to ?? (sometimes 1am-2am).

If you need a player, I would be willing to participate.

I can play every weekday at around 17:00 GMT +2:00

Welcome back Eurisko! We had 7 players for about a week, but we've lost a few recently. Not sure who's left... probably 5 or 6, including you.

So, Peaster, what should we do now?
If you don't wish to stick to the timetables and don't like the idea, it's ok. I've quite a lot to do at the moment, so 3-hour skedule would be punishing for me, too. Whoever is up for next turn, please make the turn. Let's go on with the game.

Eurisko, you can play for Platy. I think he didn't show up, and it's still his turn.

Don't we need a Babylon? Is Platypus dropping out as well?

I don't have a great record at interpreting posts, but I'm guessing we've lost Heresson, Platypus and RobRoy. Players - please correct me!

So, AFAIK we have Bostero, Eurisko, ISeeAll, Peaster, and Straybow. I'd rather restart since we didn't get thru the 1st turnset yet. I wouldn't mind waiting a few more days to see if RobRoy or Platypus or even SlowThinker might still be in.

ISeeAll: could you update your civ assignments to inlcude Eurisko ? It looks like 1-2 players will have to play double... maybe Persia/Greece and Minoans/Hittites ?
