Here are the sounds I gathered for the scenario...

They are from a variety of sources, all credit goes to the respective authors!

Don't forget to add the rules.txt in the zip too, as the SFX will not work without it!

    Enjoy!

Great idea Dave - see the attached zip for 2 versions of the static.spr file; one optimised for shift-z viewing, and the other for zoomed-in cntrl-z. I edited another bat file to suit and it works OK. Feel free to change if it looks dodgy

For anyone who's downloaded this scenario, stick the contents of this zip into your Mongols scn folder and fire up SetupSprites.bat

Lets bet for third placed-money on the krauts.

            @Curt:

            great sounds!

Looks fine by me, except that you might want to append a line
              Code:
              :done
at the end. I suspect that
              Code:
              goto done
causes the bat to halt harmlessly after generating the error message, "The system cannot find the batch label specified - done". Still works, but it's dodgy.

Players should bear in mind that ToT loads static.spr at the start of the Mongol session. To switch Sprites, they'll need to exit ToT, run the bat, and restart ToT.

Mind if I borrow this for EA?

Damnit! If only I was a mod again, so I could edit my post and your quote to make sure everyone understands it only applies to your posts in this thread prior to my first post!

Thanks. Just the static whatchamadoodle. I've snagged Curt's sounds already.

I have to admit this scenario is one of the greats...The genius behind the design is subtle.

Like Exile's 'Age of Crusades', you are granted a few singular
super units, and must hinge your campaigns on the actions
of these generals and Khans...Brilliant fun!

I had to run my Khan back from a victorious war in Arabia,
back East to take on the Sung Chinese...A tough battle!

The battle action gives you the essential winning feeling,
but is tricky enough to not allow you to get too smug!

                    Addictive scenario!!!

This is a wonderfully done conversion. I've been playing as the Mongols, and have been reminded what a tough and unforgiving scenario it really is.

There are a few touches needed yet, however. There's no readme file. Any plans for one? In previous conversions, I've added a few notes to the original author's readme. If Fairline or Palag would send me a few notes on their efforts, I would be pleased to combine them with Harlan's original notes to make an updated Readme file.

I've taken the liberty to make a title page (attached). Is it acceptable?

Also, the sounds are incomplete. I'll undertake to provide a complete mix as well.

Well i don't really think my name deserves being on the title screen. Fairline did most of the work. Hell, if someone's name deserves to be up there that would be yours Tec(if you come about doing that readme and sounds stuff that is ).

But nevertheless since a full conversion is on the works, i'd better start working on the icons.bmp some more. I had only changed those icons that Harlan had decided to keep the vanilla gfx for them, and kept his own artwork intact.

                          BTW the tittle looks great.

I spotted that I'd forgotten to put Harlan's readme and title in the zip

I'll add a few lines to the readme about the conversion before sending them to you Tech. The title looks marvellous, but is it too late to ask you to lose the tagline about the conversion? I think the 'Mongols by HT' suffices.
