  • WWII scenario PBEM

I have a suggestion for PBEM game for 3 players.

We start the usual WWII scenario with Axis, Allies, and Russians as human players. French, Spanish, Neutrals, and Turks are AI. The first player to move (Axis) makes his turn, saves the game as .hot file, and posts here. The second player loads the file, makes his move and posts here. The third player loads, makes his move, posts. Then the first player again, until the scenario reaches its usual end. The winner is defined by the number of objective cities at the end of the scenario. If all players agree, we play further until one player controls the whole map.

    Difficulty: deity.
    normal movement, normal production

    Usual rules:
    - reloading game while you are making your move is not allowed. Accept the first combat outcome.
    - editing rules.txt is NOT allowed.

    Special rules:
    - stacking bombers with non-bomber units is NOT allowed
    - bribing units/cities is NOT allowed
    - stealing techs/poisoning/planting nuclear device/sabotaging are allowed
    - building food caravans is NOT allowed (to prevent food-caravan-tricks)
    - talking to human-controlled civs is NOT allowed (including trading advances). Talking to AI civs, trading techs and making alliances is allowed.
    - building airbases within city radius if NOT allowed (because airbases give additional resources)
    - government switching is NOT allowed, even if you discover/steal a government tech and get an invitation to change government.

I think you guys like this idea because the very first move would already contain much action. You won't to wait a hundred of moves for battles to start.

So, 2 more players are needed. Anyone interested, please post here or send an e-mail to iseeall@narod.ru

The usual WWII scenario wouldn't be the original microprose one, would it?
Its one of my faves. I'm in.

    Axis please.

I'll take the Russians, if you don't mind ))

Well, I have started the game and saved it. Russians seem to be the first to move, so I will attach the first game save with my next post.

Here is the standard Civ2 WWII scenario.
If you wish to play for Russians, I can take the Allies as well.

                re:

                thanks dude, yep.
you are offering me Russia, and i want it.
btw, if this pbem is good. we can do other so that each one has the chance to play a civ.

i'd like to add a restriction rule. no stealing tech with a diplomat. wouldn't be realistic that you are with a superior tech and you get it easy by stealing without nothing discovered.

                disallow planting devices.
planting devices would encourage fast destruction. i would prefer wars with conventional militar tactics.

                my ideas, you decide.

Ok, I take the Allies then. No stealing is ok for me, and for the Axis, too. You are playing Russians, and with their communism you are actually making the game much tougher for yourself )) Axis and Americans can do research pretty fast anyways.

Disallowing bomb-planting is good, too. Since spies are cheap, everyone may end up producing them only to wipe out any defenses in cities.

So, no that there are 3 of us, I will create the game and post the very first save here. The Russians will then make their move and post here, too. And so on. Please tell who's turn is next when posting you save. Also, the save should be right in the end of YOUR turn, so that the next player had to press End Turn and wait for any AI civs to move. If you save in the beginning of the turn of the next player, you will have to click through any city reports, which may deprive the next player of some important info.

Here is the 1st save of the game, Russians' turn. I selected Advanced Flight for research. In case you don't like this, feel free to start the same game and select something else.
Now waiting for the Russians' move.
