In civ2 this would mean that fighter's defense value should be 6, not 3, so that it successfully defended against a bomber most of the times... As it is now, the only way to stop a bomber is a Mech.Inf on hills.
Depends on the veterancy of the units dude. You see a fighter's defence quadriples when scrambling.
A fortified veteran airoplane scrambling to defend a city has an about 60%-70% chance of shooting down a veteran bomber.
SAMs, as in real life, don't give a bonus to the defending airoplanes cause that would imply shooting some of their own planes as well.

Btw dude i wouldn't open Bostero's saves again if i were you. Its called cheating.

      I won't, of course.
Thank you for the info about fighters. I didn't know their defense is quadripled.. Then it looks quite fair..

hehehehehehe, you guys made me happy here!.
also i learnt something about you.

i did all legally, i only talked with AI civs.
and yes, i know a LOT of things about civ2. i studied the civ2 file format in order to understand better the mechanics of the game. Also i'm a very veteran and experienced player playing PBEMs. ( which is rather different than playing in MP, and rather different playing with the dumbass AI ).

@IseeAll: dude!!! you should have known about that trading increment you the science bar. that's very basic
btw, do not open the games, before doing that, you should have asked. i'm not planing nothing weird but develop Russia.

        let's continue with the game.

@palaiologos: i meant, that i learnt something about combat stats, specially with air combats. and that came from your discussion guys.

                  AL-Basora taken

                  1 mech infantry was destroyed.
                  1- engineer teraforming.

city taken. and almost razed ( no city wall )

Libanese gloucester razed afther destroying a brit fighter inside.

                  Jerusalem was razed as well.

btw, how it's going the pacific war at now??

The French finally capitulate. The German defeat in the Great War is at last avenged.

Btw I believe that since ISeeAll was not aware of the huge bonuses that trade gives in Civ2 when he drafted the rules for this game, Bostero should do what a proper gentleman would do and stop it.

I know i haven't built a single caravan in the whole game and i believe neither have the Allies. If ISeeAll knew about how unbalancing trade could be he wouldn't have sunk those Russian transports(believing they were loaded with troops instead of trade units) in the first place.

                    Anyway its your call.

I think I lost this game anyway. But let's see how it goes.

                      Sold walls in Oslo

Inhabitants of Alexandria prepare to massive airstrikes...

I guess that now you will attack with Cruise Missiles cuz a missile would beat even Mech Inf on hills...

BTW since I am not an experienced MP/PBEM player, did you ever successfully defend in civ2? I see that attack is cheaper and less troublesome. Defense is costly, risky, and also annoying, cuz your defenders sometimes fail even if numbers are on their side...

Ok, I now understand why Rocketry, but I am still surprised by your favor of Fundy. You can't switch the government anyways according to current game rules (as I posted, you can't even if the game offers you to do it right when you make the discovery of the corresponding tech).. And when you are not under Fundamentalism, you can't build Fanatics. Or is there any other use of this tech?
