    Nope, not it. AI still refused to build new cities with the exception of the spots on which events create settlers. Additional settlers created on those spots busy themselves farming.

    Of course, the scenario does have rather more cities than I remember it having, but nowhere near the limit. I have founded quite a few cities in my game so far. Pah.^-^

      "Nope, not Land Mass" or "Nope, not Fertility"? I'm hoping just the former!

            I don't know very much about it, but I think that most of the Spanish pacific fleet (which handled trade between the colonies and mexico, from where goods were shipped to and from spain) were built in the colonies, especially later on.

            As well, I'm 100% sure that a couple of the Spanish ships which participated in the battle of Trafalgar were as well built in the Colonies - the shipyards of Santiago de Cuba being one of the most well known of the american shipyards.

                Hey Eivind, don't know if you still read, but I found some bugs on the events-file:
                @IF
                TURN
                turn=125
                @THEN
                TEXT
                Growing conflict between King Charles I of England, Scotland and Ireland and the Long Parliament results in the outbreak of the English civil war (1642 - 1649). Supporters are respectively called Royalists and Roundheads. The Parliament eventually emerges victorious. The captive King is put on trial (January 19 - January 27, 1649) and then executed by decapitation (January 30, 1649). The monarchy is abolished and briefly replaced by the Commonwealth of England (1649-1653).

                ^^England may revolt to Republic.
                ENDTEXT
                @THEN
                GIVETECHNOLOGY
                receiver=English
                technology=73
                JUSTONCE
                @ENDIF
                First of all the removed republic-tech should be No. 72, right? This way instead of receiving republic, England would get the trade reducing "Invention"-tech
                Anyways, wasn't republic taken out for good reasons? Or are these events just remaining from the former version?

                Second: As you perhaps realized, the ANYBODY trigger just works once, so perhaps some barabarian unit events could be replaced.. is there still capacy in the events-file?

                Hope you're fine at France!

                    I honestly can't remember what I thought about, if it was intentional or if it was a mistake, it's been such a long while since I worked on it. But as far as I can remember revenues were very good regardless once the cities were developed with roads and railway station. Check it out in SP and give me some feedback!

                    I guess it can somehow be rationalised with a change from trade focus to war focus and that you somehow get penalised for it. But I see the point about this beeing a start tech for some civs, that's not fair.

                      It's been a while, but... first of all, great scenario! I started playing SP as the Habsburgs (may appear somewhat "lame", but not having played that much in a long time it was worth its while) and after some tinkering found a way to stop the Ottoman expansion early (check it out if you want).

                      Anyway, after some time I started diplo-advancing into Italy, taking first Genoa and then Rome (passing around some "house rules" I'm afraid ). However, after having bribed Rome, the game crashes. Either upon the Ottoman turn, or later. [If later (happened only once), everyone starts building wonders that are already there and city improvements become renamed (into SAM battery and the like), so a real bug?] The regular crash in Win 7 looks is just a dialogue window announcing the stopping of Civ2.

                      So, the question is: is there a way to stop this? I loaded the savegame in the regular folder and it was alright. I removed the events files from the scenario folder, and it still crashed. Delevented the save file, to no avail (this one's not delevented btw). It may bein the scenario file? What could we be looking for here?

                      Savegame attached.

                        Guess what, problem "solved". I still don't know what caused that crash, but when I reloaded the auto2.sav and waited some more turns, it stopped crashing the game. If anyone cares, the saves right before and after the capture of Rome attached.
