Harry, if I can help you in any way, just ask!

I might be able to find an interesting idea with change terrain and events (no, no definite idea yet )

      Cool!

I'll think about it this week-end!

I might have something I had originally devised for an Ancient Egypt scen I'll probably never do...
      Ankh-Morpork, we have an orangutan...

Another idea would be to take a page from Arthur Conan Doyle's book "The Lost World" and add some friendly and not so friendly dinosaurs to the mix, though that might be a tired and not that surprising theme by now.

You're right, even though we do have a plethora of dinosaur units the idea is a bit old. The problem is that we don't have much else to work with. I guess we could just go and use a smattering of dinos, insects, and some others to liven up the island. Man eating plants?

The next three units are exotic items the respective expeditionary leaders have brought along with them. Our English Lord has brought a team of native guides, as you had requested Harry (though I could make them look more Zulu'ish if you want), along with dozens of tried and trusted camels who have yet to let the Empire down.

Our German Count has brought along his own personal Zeppelin, a gift from Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin, for surly the mere sight of Germans in control of the skies will frighten those arrogant British and foolish Americans into conceding defeat.

Finally our American Adventurer has brought along a new inovation in logistics, an internal combustion engine powered truck! These new fangled contraptions will surly make the road ahead an easier one for the American squad, and might just give them the winning edge over they're foes .

As usual I'd be glad to make any changes based on any recomendations you might have. I have to say I'm really liking where your taking this scenario idea.

Very nice Chris I think they're wonderful I say we give these units special movement points.

Brit Zulu guides get the road movement multiplier

German Zepplin units get to float above the ground so they get the helicopter movement effect

American trucks have 4 regular movement points (more so than the Brits, but the trucks only do well on open land).

Well I've been working on the railroad graphic overlay of the ocean tile and I don't think there's any feasible way to use the graphic unless the rail is kept in straight, diagonal (top-left to bottom-right) sections. It just looks too cut up. Though I am sure we can find a happy medium on the map.

Right now I'm going to work on the boardwalk and see what I can do.

Sorry to hear the railroad tile isn't going to work HT, I personally loved the look of it but I can understand why the overlay would be giving you so much trouble.

Well the tiles will work, but only a certain way. The rails by themselves look good, except for the left-right straight acros pieces which have a gap. Anyways, I think we can still use the rails for the "railcar" express way

Also, I made a boardwalk too. It looks OK, but I want to add a bit more flavor to it. If you look closely there is a plank that bridges the gap between the corners of each diamond.

                    Hope you guys like them

Well the boardwalk graphic looks great, glad to know the tiles will fit together and work right. As for the units, having just seen and loved Peter Jackson's King Kong, I modeled these two American Expedition members off of the adventuring sailors of the movie. Complete with the tommy guns you had requested .

Here's another suggestion. If you're using ToT and you're familiar at all with multi-mapping, you could have a second map for a subterranean cavern complex to be explored for extra but important goodies (and with its own dangers).

Here are two more sailor style units, these ones I suppose are generic and could be used for either the US side, Britain or Germany. One features a standard issue rifle, the other the Thompson Sub Machine Gun.

I love them all Chris, those guys look the part Reminds me of Kirk Douglas in 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea! These guys will definately be key players.

@Patine: Excellent suggestion! A multimap will be perfect for the scenario! Oooh, this is going to be great! Underground expeditions that reveal the island's true history, very cool.

As for the boardwalk I hope to include some little nickknacks with it, like bottles and refuse. Any camp full of adventurers surely will be full of whiskey and beer!

Well I'm glad to hear so far the units are up to snuff. If you have any specific ideas at all please feel free to let me know and I'll take my best shot at it.

I also agree with Patrick's idea of exploiting the multi-map feature, as well as your idea of litter on the boardwalk .

Speaking of scenario ideas. Anyone watched the new Kong movie? That could make a scenario. Or another expedition reaching the island before the events of the movie..

Anyways, those sailors look fine. This whole scenario idea could be great.
