            • Ok, some updates.

I've reworked the unit prereqs, names, and stats per Fairline.

I've fixed the trireme stats per Curt.

Pisae is no longer building a City Guard unit.

I've fixed some of the events. I decided to to create "Auxiliary" techs for just the army units that can be "won" once a city is captured. This should fix some of the problems with the "every turn" econ units which appear by making the econ unit trigger techs seperate. I may revise this later, but for now it works so I'm going with it. This way you can play as almost every civ and "win" other civ's units once a capital city is captured. You can even play as Egypt, take Roma, and gain the ability to produce client state Roman units.

The Parthians, upon making their "big move" in the mid 1st century BC will now have the "Parthian Inv." unit spawned outside select Seleucid cities. This unit, nonresearchable and nonbuildable, should knock down some doors making the Parthians effectively take over the cities (Hopefully). Also, the Parthinians will be able to build Seleucid/Parthian units upon the event date, not the taking of any specific city.

              • Here is the revised Game.txt - I changed a lot of improper
references that would not have fitted with the 'ancient' feel.

                  • Woah! I gotta check that out. I wonder what's causing that. I've only modified the rules.txt. Weird.

                    • Might be a MGE version problem....

                      • I dunno. Mine is a product of the FW to MGE upgrade patch... But I'll see if I have the same problem tonight.

                        • I know ToT inserts over 40 lines in Labels.txt compared with MGE. Like you say, maybe going from FW to MGE does the same. Makes sense...there's a lot of MP dialog.

                          • Curt, have you had this problem with Gold Gulch?

                            • I don't recall this problem with Gold Gulch, but I am 99.9%
certain this is an issue caused by transition from FW to MGE.

What version of MGE do you have?

                              • Hmmmm, well the screen works fine on my computer, just as it should. I don't really know what the version is. I have all the patches. The Civ 2 executable is dated: Tuesday, October 29, 2002 4:13:57 AM.

I dunno. Here's my labels.txt from the main Civ2 directory. Maybe I need to grab one from someone else's scenario. I've never seen a problem like this.

Does anyone have the same problem as Curt?
