  • The only Governments are Commies and Fundies in this one.
Well, in that case, I'd suggest canning plans for Women's Suffrage, and avoiding making a Wonder that grants happiness or contentedness to the Daleks or Master. Some suggestions, though:
-King Richard's Crusade (Experimental Transmat Generator)
    -Copernicus or Newton (Logopolitan Exile)
    -Hanging Gardens (Unfettered Union Jack)
-Sun Tzu's Academy (Advanced Dalek Combat Programming)
    Just some ideas for you.

    • Good ideas, though!

Actually, canning a few of the wonders is actually OK, as it
makes me focus on making the remaining features as good
as I can, without spreading it all too thinly with too much content!

      I can use these suggestions!

      Cheers!

      • UPDATE!

After some consultation with the experts, I have decided to shelve the plan for the spaceship,
and keep it for the next Dalek scenario after this one. This is because I had deactivated the
spaceship option (silly of me) when creating the maps, and I cannot bring myself to lay down and
rename over 250+ cities all over again! But not to worry, I will be giving this concept the full
treatment it deserves when I create my next Dalek Project, which will take place on Skaro during
the Thal/Kaled war! More on that later!

Right now, I want to get this current installment done...! Work has been going apace.
I know this has been taking a while, but this is myost ambitious project ever!
I have been sizing the cities and adding units, and it is looking tidy!
I have been making some edits to the rules and city improvement list.

I want to accelerate the process, so I now hereby ask for a hand from any concerned Who Fans around here...!
I need people to help me create text matter for the events, so I can get cracking on making the icons, and
adding edits to the label.txt and game.txt files. Also, sizing up the cities and adding units will be time
consuming, so any help people can give me is hugely appreciated, and also helps make this more of a community
project...! Also I will have to get cracking on some new WAV content for the scenario too!

If any of you chaps are interested, I need events blurbs of 3-4 line for each event...
I need them to be short and sweet, and as cheesy as you wish to make them, they include:

        Events for the death/regeneration of Doctor's 1-9.
Events for the arrival or death of the Doc's companions.
Events for the death/undeath of the Master.
Events for the arrival of the Movellans.
Events for defeat of each Civ faction...
Doctor, UNIT, Humans, Thal, Master, both Dalek civs.

Anything else that can be thought as essential in the events...

I will handle stuff like special wonders, and the technical stuff...

All I need are ideas from you chaps...Be creative...

Feel free to dive in and help get this thing done!

        • Sadly, my knowledge of Dr. Who extends to 2.5 episodes of the current series. How does this Dr. Who compare with the others? Is he soon to be history?

          • I think Dave Tennant is being rather well accepted by most fans. I think he will stick around for a while.

I am one of the fans that conceded that the old Who was wallowing in it's own ethos, and needed to dragged into the modern ages.
I am glad they added so much dynamic scripting and mindset with the new series, and picked younger, more relevant actors to play
the timelord and companions. Of course there are some old walruses all caught up in the 1970s, who refuse to like the new series,
            because it is...Well, new!

              • Speaking of the new episodes, I just learned from Typhoon that the new episodes of Doctor Who started airing this past Saturday in the UK. You see, I had been (mistakenly apparently) under the impression that the CBC here in Canada would be broadcasting the episodes on the same date the BBC would air them. This was supposed to be an improvement on the first season when BBC ran the episodes one week ahead of CBC.

It turns out I was wrong though.... and for some strange reason CBC here is holding out for a couple of months or so before they're going to start airing the new season .

Sorry gents, but I had to vent and get that little rant off my chest. In any case, though work and school will keep me too busy to contribute text blurbs to this for the next week or so Curt, I do know a fellow who's been a diehard fan since the Baker days of the 70's who's quite a writer, and he might be able to lend a hand with some persuasion of mine .

                • Bummer to hear about the CBC messing you chaps around!

I can assure you, from what I seen in the new episode, the
wait will be worth it...Seeing Billie Piper soaked in a shower
made all the waiting since xmas worth it alone!

Also, I appreciate how busy things are at this time of year
for people at school/college/uni, I am doing tutoring myself
and it is quite hectic before the exams. So if you can get
time, you contributions are very, very welcome!

                  PS
I am very intriqued about you friend's writing...I am sure he
could come up with some interesting insights...As long as
he doesn't mind writing short and sweet blurbs...! It would
be an amazing chance to get some cool stuff in the events!

                  Keep me posted, bud!

                  • UPDATE!

I had a very productive evening of creating the icons
for buildings and city screen...All looking rather nice!

So all that remains now for Dalek Tyranny is this:

                    *Wonder Icons.

*City sizing and final unit placement.

                    *Events.

                    *Sounds. (only 50% to go)

                    *Tweaks to text files.

                    *Playtests!!!

I am not far from completion now...
                    The events being the biggest challenge;
Adding touches that help the plot progression.

I expect to hopefully have a playtest ready within 2 weeks...!

                    • I'll gladly playtest as one of the Dalek players. I'd really like to try this one. Looks like it'll be good! And I can't wait to see Billie in the shower when the CBC actually aires the new season.

                            • UPDATE!

*Only one unit needed to complete the set!
*All cities are sized, populated and ready!
*All Icons (both large and small) are done!
*Rules file is all complete and ready!
                              *Pedia/Describe text work is underway!
                              *The Events.txt is underway!
                              *The sounds are 70% done!
                              *A Readme is being made!

Many small changes will be done when the scenario is
given the first test by me this weekend...Almost there!

I am really rearing to get this epic done...I can see the
end in sight, and I am eager to get conquering these
four maps and to send my Daleks forth in battle!

Seeing how the maps play out will help any fine tuning to
the unit balance, but I feel it will not need much tweaking.

Get your scarves on, chaps - The Daleks are almost here...
(as are Cybermen, Movellans, Thals and Sontarans!)
