Nothing wrong with Dell. I'm on XP, have been since the day XP came out. ME is by far the worst OS ever created. I think the NVIDIA cards run civ4 better than the ATI cards. All I did was reinstall my motherboard drivers then disabled my integrated video card and installed the new one. Computer running great now.

Since Rah's PC is so ancient, I guess he's gonna have to buy a new one.

Keep the old one Rah for net civ2 games!

            Ancient PC?

I have a Duron 900MHz, 256MB RAM, 32MB TNT2 graphics card and I still think Civ IV ought to run on such hardware. It's a strategy, not a FPS! I don't even play FPS.

Anyway, an upgrade is in order here too and not something I am looking forward to since my PC is modded - it runs without a single fan. It's going to be awful to have a noisy configuration once more.

I've got it, and it works mostly fine on my computer. It slows down a lot later in the game (and isn't 100% quick in the early ages either), but most of the time it works pretty good.

                I like it.

I haven't played MP yet, I dunno if I will. Maybe if people want to revive diplogames, but I think my competitive ladder days are well behind me.

I take it back. I DID go play a bit of MP. Guess who I ran into for my very first game playing Civ4 online ever?

                  Guess who won?

Guess who was b.tching and whining about it after it was over?

                        EoN? The soap opera continues!

OzzyKP, your review of Civ IV would be very interesting to read, let me know if you write it.

My review from a MP perspective, from a diplogaming perspective or just in general?

From a PM perspective, not diplo or general.

I've only played a few hours due to the "black" screen problems (hopefully I will have a new computer this weekend)... and I was wondering how stable the MP game was... What type of options you can choose... does the game move too slow in the beginning?

                            MP players want to know!

Well I only played that one game against Eyes, so tonight after work I'll play another game or two and write something up. Briefly though there weren't any lag issues or any technical problems that way. I really hate simultaneous moves though, but it does speed things up. So a lot of battles come down to being quick on the draw, I don't know if you can turn that off.
