I am done talking about this, I was just trying to be helpfull , and I could care less if CIV II league was bigger that the CIV III league or whatever. All I was trying to point out is that there is quite a CIV3 MP following out there, are they a HUGE group, well no, but mt guess is they are bigger than you suspect, and they have some dam good CIV3 players. I know Ive played them, and right now Im participating in a democracy game with them.

But again, its not my intent, to find out "whose group is bigger or better". It was my intent to point out there is more to the CIV world than Apolyton, and some of it is probably bigger than you suspect.

Holy ****, there's people on that ladder with over 3000 games played...I'm impressed. I had no idea there was such a huge following. I thought Civ3 Mp was dead in the water when they released PTW. I probably wouldn't have liked MP anyway though since the game was based on massive amounts of corruption. Suddenly though I'm feeling outdated. I'm going to have to retake my position as the greatest civ player ever.

I've played it and it is awesome. Civ2 is finally done for. Long live Civ4.

Civ 2 will be around for awhile longer since most of our machines suck so bad we can't play it.
Most of my terrain was dark and it was so slow. I played a bit but it got real frustrating.
Have to get a new computer, and that isn't happenin for awhile yet.

Mine runs fine on a 5 year old compaq presario with 256MB of ram, 1GHZ and a brand new GeForce FX5200 NVIDIA card.

I have ME still. Do you have XP?
I was looking at a new video card but most of the cards draw too much power and technically stress out the crappy Power supply installed into dells at the time. If I'm going to upgrade an OS, Power Supply and a higher end video card, it almost makes more sense to just buy a new computer.

If you're running ME, maybe i'll just try the new card you're using. Did you have to do anything extra to make it work?

Rah, you need to get a new computer. If you wish I can help you make the choice.

While being and IT director I'm pretty savy about computers and configurations, but video cards is not my specialty.
Advice on one that would work without costing an arm and a leg would be appreciated.

I cant even get it to load on my machine. CivIV tech support said it wouldn't run with Windows ME.

I got it to run, it's just half the terrain you can't see, it's slow as crap, and half the features create weird visuals,
BUT other than that, I can play the game

As IT director I'm certain that you can afford a decent PC that would support all new Civ 4 features without resorting to giving your arm or leg for it.
